I bought the blitz throttle controller because I wanted a more sensitive acceleration when the pedal was pressed.

Some info off the blitz web site: Recent trend of automobile equipped with Electric Controlled Throttle Valve replaced from Mechanical Throttle Valve (Cable type). The electrically controlled throttle valve is one of updated technology in automobile industry and the technology brings a precise throttle valve control enable to adjust acceleration characteristic for much more fuel conservative yet causing gap in acceleration response in the other end.

BLITZ Throttle Controller eliminates acceleration gap as much as possible by converting electric signal by the use of pre-programmed characters (modes). Throttle Controller is an item which improves acceleration response.

The unit includes Vehicle Specific Wire Harness, which makes Plug & Play easy installation (some vehicle may require 12v power wiring). Most application simply plugs in Vehicle Specific Wire Harness in between a accelerator-pedal position sensor and a factory stock wiring which is most of time located close to accelerator pedal. Display Units and Control Box are separated individually made display unit light and compact enough to place easy on dashboard area.

BLITZ Throttle Controller is a most reliable unit among in the market as well as an easiest solution to improve accelerator response.

Plug on top of the acceleration pedal that I'm connecting to. I put a mirror on the side of the plug so you can see how to take the plug off.

Plug off. Took it off with my hand, it was a little hard to take off, but I eventually unplugged it.

Other Blitz plug connecting to the other plug that comes from the car engine. Sorry, I don't know what to call the plugs, but it's pretty self explanatory.

From there, plug the plugs into the blitz module. I positioned the module behind my AC contols.

*******IF INSTALLING THE REVERSE CANCEL HARNESS*********

Reverse cancel harness comes with a pink wire about 10 feet long. It's optional, but I'd highly recommend it because I did not want my acceleration pedal to be jumpy when reversing. I basically connected the pink wire to the module, the manual shows which pin to input the wire. I then ran the wire to my positive side of the back left reverse light. I tried to locate where the reverse wire was in the car, since I was lazy, but played it safe and ran the pink wire to the reverse light in the back. Pics are below

I tapped into the reverse light in the back, but forgot to take a pic. Position the controller wherever is most convenient for you, and enjoy!!

this is the 1st thing I want to buy when I bought my yaris, since the response of drive by wire is tooo slow for me...

the reason I still haven't bought it yet as because I thought it was pluging into the OBDII, and I can't live without the GReddy Informeter Touch(which plug into the OBDII)

Now, it is the next upgrade I MUST get:tongue:

I'd be surprised if the production costs broke $3.70

This thread should be titled DIY: Blitz Throttle Controller.
What are the different modes? I noticed ECO (which is probably stock) and then there are SP1, SP2, SP3. What are they like? Have you tried those out?

you have to understand that if you plan on using the highest setting. it will burn gas!

haha! Yes, clearly understood. But with all those mods, who's concerned about gas? So is "eco" same as stock?

Had one for awhile. Eco is now my driving mode. I have an AT and it really feels like with the Blitz the shift points have changed. In ECO mode I'm still able to get 39-41 MPG. Again, Garm will be offering these at a decent price.

ECO is good for the daily driver, and when you want a little more power, that's when SP1, SP2, and SP3 come into play. I was suprised that ECO is still friendly to my gas lol.

hey garm you do this with the reverse thing?

808_Yaris
06-21-2009, 07:02 PM
i'm sure he can, it's just a pink wire with a pin that you can connect to the harness. i'm even sure that you can make one if your local parts store carries it. i thought it was pricey just for the reverse cancel harness that i could've made.

Could someone please post a pic of the reverse wire harness/cable? I may do this mod, but I'm not planning on paying extra for a couple of parts that I can DIY for a lot less.

well looking back at alainmikli's photo...take a look at the plug with the most wires coming out of it. The reverse cancel wire basically connects to the far left pin, by itself. So if you wanted to do a diy, then i would buy a pin connector, and some 18 guage wire. That's all you need! And just wire your reverse cancel wire to the reverse light of the car.

cali yaris
06-24-2009, 02:51 AM
yeah I didn't really know about that wire, for the money they really should just include it.

as long as it's plug 'n play, it's pretty much the same thing, it remaps the throttle signal from the pedal to the ECU.

from my experience...i'd rather go with the trusted brands. blitz was good enough for me
