Take off that TRD CAI. There's a flimsy plastic stick inside the mid-section of the CAI where the foam filter is. Under the wrong condition, it could come loose and get sucked into the blower.

This is what I was told and when I took my TRD CAI off, I saw that little piece.

BTW, congratulations on a successful intall.

Interesting wheels. Congrats on being boosted  You really should clean up that nasty engine bay before showing off your 3k+ investment

Ha, over 20k with all of that on a brand new 09! But still not a bad value for the little car.

Congrats. It may not be that powerful but I love the sound. The more of us that buy these pricey upgrades the more they'll design and make. :)

+28 offset marcus.

I'm thinking of just taking the bypass out of my TRD intake and putting a spacer there...

Cheers

the bypass is there in case of water so that it doesn't turn into a shopvac and pull water in the engin.. may just be better to set the cone at that location instead ? (didn't that happend with someone on here with the aem cai ?)

i'll have to take a look at it but, what you guys are saying that might get sucked in is the little foam peice on the outside?

and thanks for the props guys :w00t:

Congrats s3r3nity! :w00t: nice set up

On your intake I suppose you could remove the water bypass and relocate the filter to that end. The AEM (the kind I've got) is a one piece design and yeah the filter is way down in the fender, right above the fog light. I don't remember anyone having issues with water but I could be wrong.
