Hi all,

I'm new to yarii, and I just recently got mine. Unfortunately, I wound up with a ding on my hood from a tree branch.

It's a two inch linear dent, with one end barely across the crease on the hood. I went to my dealer, and the autobody tech said it would cost $650 to pull it out, rebuff, paint, etc...

I like my car, but not enough to pay that much to fix that tiny ding. Any suggestions on how to repair it, or how much it would cost?

Any help is much appreciated!

Yarold.

It's small, but big enough to nag at me. Stupid tree.

Does the ding go across the crease in the hood?? If so there probably won't be a cheap DIY fix.

try looking up paintless dent removal places in your area - I used google to find mine, for the dents in my door the body shop was going to charge $1,200 and I would be stuck with body filler and a new spot of paint - I didn't want to deal with that so I called the paintless dent removal place and I have an appointment to get all 3 dents out of my door (and they are pretty bad, the main one is 2.5" and the other two are about 1.5" each) for $300. Best part: No body filler, or having to repaint!

yes try to find a Paintless Dent Removal service... a guy came out to my home and removed a huge dent on the side of my car for $130. Went to 5 body shops and all said it would cost $800+

I had over $10,000 in damages on a car once, due to hail. Paintless dent removal fixed all the dents except for one. I don't know if they can fix your kind of dent with this technique, but it's worth looking into.

The hood is $150 just buy a new one and have it painted, some shop will do it cheap, install yourself.

Try this it may work but if the ding is on the crease it maynot, but it is a cheap try.

thanks for the feedback. I tried the blow dryer/ pressurized air method, but no luck. Maybe dry ice would have a better effect?

Saplaymate/marcus, where could I get a new hood, and how would I get paint to match the factory paint job?

AHHHH?

yeah. argh.

Paintless dent removal people are ALWAYS visiting the larger car dealerships. You should visit the big dealerships and talk with the used car manager. He should be able to turn you on to who does their work.

It's a cheap try.

I am in the Baltimore area, and I tried Ars Dent Repair https://www.arsdentrepair.com. Not sure if they have a shop at your place
But they did a wonderful job by removing a big dent on my Yaris for $350 other shops refused to touch.
