Here is a great site with lots of detailed info on car reliability. It will definately make you think differently about a lot of cars after examining these numbers. Some of the pages are long, so scroll down...

Caution: If you own a GM vehicle, do not go to this link!

That's why i got rid of my Xtreme.
(same engine and drive line as the Blazer/jimmy)
Body wise it was the nicest truck I've ever owned and still my favorite truck. Engine wise the truck ran flawless, but everything else on the truck was poor quality.
Tranny, U joints, oil lines, fuel pump, plastic handles busting on and on and on

It does make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside... doesn't it? It is a shame that Japanese are the only ones making reliable cars... I would love to buy American, but I cant afford it. The repair bills are too high. Seriously. My wife has a friend who bought a very used, domestic car, for $1200.00. Two weeks later the engine blew. $2000.00 to fix. $3200.00 is a year's worth of Yaris payments. When will people learn? This is the ultimate smack, because even after she gets it fixed, it will be in the shop for brakes, electrical issues, transmission, etc... It's like tossing money down the toilet! :iono:

Think about it
Is there an American made caompany left?

Most of GM drive line is made here in Canada with assembly in the US.
My father in law is a Supervosor in the St.Catherines GM driveline plant.

Every car has all of ot's products produced all over the world and every MFG supports an overseas company.

It is really difficult to tell where a car is actually made now as car companies are global. Engine in US, parts from Japan, body from South America. So don't think all Toyotas are from Japan and all GM cars are from US.....
