I have heard something about strut bars...the tanabe, cusco and c-one ones are those for the Japanese vitz? since our wheel is on the left hand side? Does it even make a difference if you get a strut bar that is made for the JDM cars ?

No... the front strut bar anchors to the same points, and all the steering linkage stuff is down below... there's nothing to get in the way of installation. Strut bars are one of those things that is easily transfered over from a JDM veh, because the majority of the body, chassis, and frame remain the same. For example... One strut bar will fit the USDM Infiniti I30, USDM Maxima, JDM Cefiro, European market Maxima QX, Australian market Maxima, and Korean Market Samsung SM5/SM520, they all look a little different, but they're all on the A32 chassis, so from a suspension layout, they're all the same.

No kidding... if the I30 wasn't getting to be such a high milage car with all those little things breaking here and there (engine and trans are gonna outlast the rest of the car, easy) I would fully convert it over into a Samsung SM5, simply for the WTF factor.

Ooooh, wonderful strut bars, I think I see mine! Darn... Cali's too far, guess I'm gonna have to get off my lazy butt and drag out the tools.

So what significance improvement does it make?

Strut bars are designed to increase front end rigidity which can lessen body torsion, improves suspension and steering characteristics of an equipped vehicle.

(assuming of course your not busy with other things that day), also, do you think the hood will arrive b4 thursday, cuz that will be my best day for sure to come in.

Well, my Sustec arrived today! It looks great, my only regret is that it's probably going to be a few days before I can get it installed. Chris, I took some pictures of the mounting bracket for you so you can finally see what it looks like, as soon as my camera's batteries charge back up (they were really low) I'll upload the pics.

Alrighty, here you go, Chris, the best pic of the lot, looks to me like it doesn't actually mount to the strut, rather it mounts to the tower, like most all bars do, its just that in this application, it doesn't use the same mount points as the strut itself.

no prob, now I just have to install them, which is a slightly difficult task with the tight clearances under the fender.

Ive got mine partially installed,Ineed to put in the rear bolts.Get this,I didnt need to remove anything,or jack up the car,I dropped a line using a small screw, tied on the bolt and washer, pulled it threw the bracket, and screwed on the nut with floss( I used floss as the string) still attached.Got both brackets installed, tighten nuts by pulling up on the bracket to add pressure on the bottom bolt, and screwed the nut, then added the bar, tighten everything up,and went for a ride,I didnt hear any squeaks, and it handled better around corners,so 2 bolts will do for now.I know the bolts should be on top and nut on bottom( I have it reversed),but I wanted to do it without loosining my shocks and removing stuff.Ill get Toyota to add the other bolts when I get my next tire rotation, they wanted to charge me $269US for the install,I hung up on them.
