Maybe an Aygo. Notice the huge Toyota emblem on the steering wheel.

The Toyota Aygo looks like a sweet little car. To bad we don't have here in the states.

What are the differences between Yaris and Aygo?

Which is better stock-equipped?
Which is more economical?

Aygo is quite smaller... not as small as an iQ but close... As for stock equipment, no idea, maybe our european brethren can chime in

Economically speaking, of course the smaller car, with a smaller engine, should yield better mileage...

What are the differences between Yaris and Aygo?

The Aygo was the smallest car in the European Toyota range before the iQ showed up. It was developed in cooperation with Citroen and Peugeot, who sell basically rebadged versions of the same car (some changed details aside) as the C1 and 107 respectively. All 3 cars are produced in the same factory in the Czech Republic. Lenghtwise the cabin is roughly the same size as in the Yaris, however the Aygo is narrower, which contributes to a nice elbow-to-elbow feeling. The luggage space is almost exactly half of that on the Yaris- it's considerably shallower.

There are 2 engines- the 1,0 gasoline (same as used on the Yaris) and a 1,4 diesel engine. The gasoline engine gets better urban mileage, but the diesel rewards on the highway. It's obvious that the Aygo returns better mileage than the Yaris, since it's about 250 kg lighter (same engine, base spec).

The base equipment levels are roughly the same, both get wind-up windows, no A/C, 4 airbags and a stereo. The Aygo's equipment is not comparable 1:1 with the Yaris, since it's produced with Peugeot and Citroen, but it does have one major advantage. Even the base model gets an audio system with a 3,5mm auxillary audio port, albeit with only 2 speakers and no MP3-CD compatibility.

Some facts about the Aygo:
* A large part of the inside of the door is not covered (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/drpt_photos/Aygo/8bae6b85.jpg), so you are constantly reminded of the colour of your car. Barely noticeable on a black car, but on a red one like this... (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/drpt_photos/Aygo/8bae6b85.jpg)
* The rear hatch is 100% glass, no frame. Just hinges screwed to the top. (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/drpt_photos/Aygo/b5cc5004.jpg)
* There is just one huge wiper, but it does the job, since it's hinged (articulated?). (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/drpt_photos/Aygo/ce5a135f.jpg)
* See the spare room in the enigine bay of your Yaris? Well, that has been eliminated. (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/drpt_photos/Aygo/6040a380.jpg)
* There is no tach on the base model. You can get one as an optional extra and it looks like a Mickey Mouse ear (http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/2/4365/3921/23411960006_large.jpg).
* The speedo is attached to the steering column (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/drpt_photos/Aygo/8bae6b85.jpg) and moves along when you adjust the steering wheel vertically.
* The gas tank cover was apparently modelled off a Pringles chip (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/drpt_photos/Aygo/4ca4198b.jpg).
* The rear window heater lines are reminiscent of a phone cord (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/drpt_photos/Aygo/047847b3.jpg).
* The front seats are identical so you get seatback recliner controls on both sides of the seat.

Richard Hammond explains it well in the video I posted above. The car was designed to be cheap. It does it well.
