I went to my local dealer to buy some Toyota mud guards for my new Yaris. Even though Sparks sells stuff at a discount, I wanted to support my local guy. The counter guys starts ringing up the set of (4) guards AT NINETY-FIVE DOLLARS. Showing the Sparks guards at $31.55 + shipping, the guy replies that "they must be selling aftermarket mud guards at that price".

Something doesn't smell right here...

Has anybody bought/installed mud guards from Sparks Toyota? If you have, are the mud guards factory Toyota parts or aftermarket?

Thank you very much for the information. $95 did seem a bit overpriced...

Based on your info, I'll check the Sparks website again - just to make sure I entered the correct information. They might be selling aftermarket mud guards at that price, though.

You could always make your own mudflaps for about 20 bucks. Just get universal ones and cut them down to size.

Ryan, I'm around the beautiful city of Fostoria (ugh).

Thanks for the offer on the used mud guards, Malaya, but I've been told that the five-door takes different guards than the three door - I'm checking on that info, though.

just got some from Sparks a few weeks ago. $32 brand new....$95 is insane for any dealer to charge. Most I can see is $50.

Thanks again for the information, guys. YarisWorld has always been a great place to share info about these terrific little cars.

My local dealer (from whom I've bought several Toyota's) appears to have changed some of its business practices for the worse. I've always admired my dealer, but the expense of building a new facility may have sharpened his need for profit. The parts department at this dealer, for example, is now being run by the dealer's son, who doesn't really seem to care about customer service. Frankly, I don't think the son tells the truth - it was he that told me that there are different mud guards for the 3-door vs. the 5-door.

I would complain to the dealer (the dad) about this situation, but I doubt he would admonish his kid. Looks like I'm a new Sparks customer for parts/accessories...

Sparks is excellent, so is Conocelli. Got my springs and shocks from Conocelli, and my rear sway bar from Sparks. Both were far cheaper than the local stealership's prices and delivered quickly and as advertised. Aggressive online parts marketing is capitalism as it should be.

I paid $35 at my dealer here in Nashville through my work account. so 95 is a bit high.

Back in '07, I paid under $30 including tax at the local Toyota dealer.

Just installed mine today. Got 'em from Sparks also. My local dealer wanted $87+tax. Ordered from Sparks, they came in 3 days through UPS. I also ordered fog light covers and they came in already too. They have super fast shipping. I'm saving about 50% compared to my local dealers.

What is the difference between these two? I am interested in getting one of these. I have a 2009 base sedan. Thanks.

Got them from trdsparks.com. They were $19.95 each. The pair with 3 day UPS delivery from S. Carolina to New York came to just under $50.

The difference is the model year. I think there is a difference in the bumper shape. I know there is between the 08 and 09 HB bumper. Hope this helps.
