Rear hub spacers attach between the hub and the rear axle and widen the rear track of the car. Hub spacers have the following benefits:
-Wider rear track increases handling
-safer/easier to install than wheel spacers and maintenance free
-provide a more aggressive stance
-eliminate the need for longer wheel studs (unlike most wheel spacers)

These rear hub spacers come complete with everything needed for correct installation including:
-2 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum hub spacers (10mm or 13mm width)
-8 Class 12.9 socket head capscrews
-8 Hardened washers
-1 Packet of anti-corrosion compound
-Online tech support

Applications: Toyota Yaris, Scion xD

they will work fine, you'll want to put the camber ring between the axle and the spacer, then hub on the outside.

hmm i may want this only if im not gonna have issue with my upcoming rim set up..
im on trd springs and getting 195/50/16 with +40 offset setup in the next couple of weeks. this car get full most of the time and i dont want rubbing when full

and how hard is it to install if i have electric impact gun.

with hand tools it is very easy install. i'd say on a scale of 1-10 it's a 3.

with a 195 and a +40mm offset you should be able to run the 13mm's without issue.

although if you want to be a little more conservative the 10mm's are available and will really help the stance.

i will be doing a complete DIY for this install (i know it's already been done by a YW member in the past)

tools needed:

Jack
lug wrench
14mm socket with extension
small flat bladed screwdriver (for ABS users)
10MM allen wrench or socket
hammer to loosen/remove brake drum and hub

15x6.5 wheels unknown offset so I may go with the 10mm as the car is not allowed to be lowered (for the bumpers' sake going up and down the driveway)

if the car is not allowed to be lowered, you could easily go 13mm :)

email/PM/Post a photo of your setup we should be able to tell if you can run the 13mm.

Then again, if you want to be a little more conservative the 10mm would work and look great too.

what was the purpose of 2 different sizes so close together? I mean why not a 15mm?

anything to do with load issues?
or suspension geometry?

Sorry new to this....any negatives to going 13mm?? For example if i hit a pothole with the 13mm wider stance (the wheels stick out more) will this destroy my fenders?

Thanks

TheRealEnth
05-25-2009, 09:19 PM
its not going to destroy your fenders, If anything if you already are really lowered and wide stance you will rub the fender with ur tire which causes bad sound and wear in ur tire, but looking at your setup that doesnt seem the case? If you could post a picture of it, that would be better.

it does not alter your load capability or your actual suspension geometry. it will however make the car more "stable" in a turn simply because the rear track is pushed slightly out.

my before-after pictures are crappy, i did not get the same angle on both sides of the car. will post them anyway

oh and the purpose of making the sets so close in size was to drive yaris owners batty trying to decide which one to choose! :D j/k of course.

the 13mm is targeted towards the Yaris owners who wanted a more aggressive stance or are running higher offset wheels.

the 10mm works great when someone doesn't want to be as aggressive or has a lower offset wheel to start.

Tamago had someone run 2 sets of 10mm's with out any ill effects on the first round of spacers he had commissioned. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe it should be noted that peeps looking at these pictures should be aware that the wheels are +30 offset. Therefore, the before picture is more representative of what the bulk of us with +40 to +42 offsets would end up looking like with spacers installed.

the rubbing needs to be addressed by your bodyshop.

i'd recommend picking up a M12X1.25 tap and threading it thru the faulty hole in the axle. should clean it up and allow you to install the longer supplied bolt.

Just curious, but instead of an anti-corrosion compound to help slow down the dissimilar metal corrosion effects, why not powder coat the spacers instead and virtually illiminate corrosion altogether?

Just curious, but instead of an anti-corrosion compound to help slow down the dissimilar metal corrosion effects, why not powder coat the spacers instead and virtually illiminate corrosion altogether?

powdercoating is a very irregular coating process and would crack/chip under the compression forces of the bolts. it would cause your rear alignment to be off as it may not be exactly the same thickness across the piece of spacer.
