So Im installing the colibri power windows and I need to tap to a power source that has power when turned on, and a illumination source.

-I tapped it to the radio, and blew the fuse(radio and tach fuse 7.5amp).
-I tapped it to a few wires that are only one when the car is on in the steering column, and blew the fuse(A/C, tach, radio fuse 25amp)
-I tapped it to a few other places and it blew the 25amp fuse that was on the power wire.
-hooked it straight up to the battery, just to see. and blew the 25amp fuse on the power wire
-tapped the illumination wire to the alarm yellow wire and blew the fuse (radio and tach fuse again 7.5amp)

where can I tap it to, that wont blow it's own or the other fuses?

you need to use a relay. then you can tap any of them.

hey where is good places to tap my relay?
I bought a SPST relay. I was planning on tapping the "30" straight to the battery, "85" of course grounded, "87" to the power window red wire, and "86" to the Ignition wire.

Oh! where is the ignition wire? or could I just hook it up to any power that turns off/on when the car is off/on?
also do i need a fuse in between if im going to hook up straight to the battery?

You can tap the ignition switch harness. White is accessory or pink is ignition.

Definitely use a fuse for the battery tap. Size it per the power requirements of the power window system.
