I recently installed the Fujita intake for the Vitz last Friday. Install was a pain in the ass, but got it done. No CEL was thrown on me.

Problem: Rubbing noise on left drivers side when turning wheels left and right on a sharp turn. Also starting off, i can feel vibration from the filter or around there. The vibration damper that came with the intake is tightly fastened on.

Any solutions or suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks in advance~

Forgot this information....

Wheel/tire setup - Enkei RS7 17s
205/40/17s
42mm offset

Anyway way to eliminate rubbing or vibration noise w/o going 16s....?

had the same problem with fujita cai..is it a metal to metal sound?..twisting the tube till u find the sweet right spot should solve it, i believe the tube is hitting a metal part of ur car....

Yes, its a metal to metal sound, it can be heard inside the cabin when starting off, reversing, etc.
I'll twist the tube a bit, but it wont twist much because when i tighten the vibrator adapter down, it moves to default position.
I took out the bumper, to see if filter was rubbing against the front bumper. But thats fine.

Did you tighten the vibrator adapter down all the way Malaya?

Going for a test run~

Well, first I'd recommend loosening the bolt in the rubber vibration damper. If that doesn't work, alter how much pipe is going into the actual filter, since there's a bit of room play in that area where the filter is. If all else fails, buy an engine damper from microimage :P

like mr bond said....loosen the bolt first then try to twist the tube then tighten the adapter down...believe there is a rubber on that adapter, not 100% sure...have to check mine tomorrow...

Internet was down, so i loosened the hose clamp and tugged it away from the car's metal piece it was clinking on. Now it doesnt make any noise when starting off, aside from the growl/roar.

Thanks Malaya & mrbond for the help ^_^

Maylaya: Did you take out the fog light cover for more efficient cooling to pass through the filter on your intake? Thats what i have done, but thinkin of putting mesh of some sort~

nope, don't think it will make that much of a difference...if you try it, take some pix...have fun!

That's what I've done, actually. I kept the factory fog light cover, dremelled it out so that there are still those two horizontal bars. I actually noticed a slight difference in acceleration and throttle response. Because think: ambient air is going straight to the filter, rather than getting warmer air from the engine bay. I say do it.
