 I finally replaced my one speed sensor for the ABS today. For those who don't remember (prolly all of you cause who would remember) I broke my one speed sensor a year ago when installing new springs. I hate these things cause it broke by me looking at it wrong. :p Well not really, I crimped it in the spring. But really the thing breaks crazy easily. I can barely see the mark where I hit it. So 130 $$ later I replaced it and I still have the ABS light on my dash. So now I'm off to have the code cleared. It's better than the $350 Toyota quoted me for the fix but I will forever hate speed sensors now. :burnrubber:
That is all. I just wanted to rant. :)

Ha. 1 day later I have some 50 views but not one comment. :p Well for those of you who obviously don't care :p the code cleared itself and all is good. :)

i cut my speed sensor wire in half accidentally.. nothing a bit of solder and shrink tube won't fix ;)

wtf? Are you serious? So why was mine broken from a tiny crimp? :( What's actually in that wire?

just two leads for the optical sensor, seriously, a soldering iron and some shrink tube would fix it. did you save the old pieces?

Yeah I have the old one. I wish I had known this last year before I bought the new one for $130. :p

Hmm. Or maybe just repair it and keep it for when I look at the new one wrong and break that one. :p

umm not to sound arrogant but aren't the sensors magnetic pickup based? Optical seems a bit unreliable since all the dirt and stuff that could cloud the IR
you are correct, my mistake
