Any Yaris owners from Louisiana here?
I'm in Baton Rouge and I've only seen a few around town, 2 of which are in the parking lot at work.
I've had mine since February and was just wondering if there were any others around here.

Thanks for replying. I don't see many of them around here and of the ones I see, very few are hatchbacks.
I admit I bought mine on a whim because it was the cheapest brand new car on any lot in Baton Rouge and I needed a new car right away, since my other car was totalled when it was hit from behind.
I've had it since February and I love it and plan to drive it for a long time.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you where I found my Yaris I located it on autotraders it was in Gulfport it has electric windows and door locks electric mirrors the nice sound system with cd and optional plugins I also did the seat modification that I found in Yaris world where you lift the driver seat in the front bolt holes using washers it helped with the uncomfortable seat, talk to ya later Wayboo.

I think I saw your Yaris last week. I went to the Welcome Center for a meeting and saw it in the parking lot. Looks very nice, very red.
I've had mine 8 months now and I love it too. Great mileage, even in stop and go Florida Blvd. traffic, rarely below 30mpg. It's a great car and I don't want to give it up.

That mileage is great! I usually get around 32 with the A/C on, I got a little more last fill up, since I haven't been running the A/C much. The biggest hinderance to my getting mileage that high is my drive to work. I drive straight up and and down Florida Blvd everyday from O'Neal Lane to near the Capitol Transit building, stop and go all the way. I seldom get on the interstate.
Sorry to hear about your job situation, I hope everything works out for you.

I have to say that most of my milage is on the interstate coming and going from St.Amant but when I went to the Cruising the Coast in Biloxi I got 42 mpg but it was a very short run trying to check just hwy. milage talk to ya later.

Hi everyone!
Name's Jhon and currently live in the French Quarter. I just bought a 2010 Yaris (Black Sand Pearl), 3-door Liftback...its sweet! I am in the US Air Force and a Florida Native, so I do road trips back home to Miami Beach all the time.
BTW, I bought the Yaris cause I was t-boned a couple of weeks and my Echo was totalled. I had her for 8 years and now she is gone. :(
Oh yea, I got my car from Toyota of New Orleans, but since I wanted a "manual", they had to transfer the car from New Iberia to New Orleans...the salesman was like, "No one drives a manual"...strange comment. ;P

Hi there! Sorry I didn't respond sooner, haven't had time to check in lately, but am glad to see another Louisiana Yaris owner.
I was able to find one with a manual transmission on a lot here in Baton Rouge. I admit I bought it because it was the cheapest brand new car in town at the time, but I like this little car. Mine is white, gray interior, gray pinstripes.
My situation was similar to your's, except it was a rear end collision and I was driving a Hyundai Accent I had for 5 years and had paid off 3 months before. I used the money from that car to put a down payment on the Yaris. I also got a settlement from my injuries and put that towards the car as well, so it will be paid off within a year.
I looked at a couple of Toyota dealerships here in Baton Rouge, and this one was the only with manual that wasn't equipped with everything. All I have is floormats, a sound system, 15inch wheels, and pinstripes. I didn't want one that was fully loaded, just wanted something to get back and forth to work in.
Anyway, great to see another Louisiana Yaris owner here.

Since I bought my Yaris a few weeks ago, I've seen about 5 Yaris owners around NOLA. And 2 of them (Silver and another Black), live and work down the French Quarter. I even raced with a WHITE Yaris on HWY 10 about a week ago...it was nice cruising thru Kenner. ;)
BTW, I did see a Yaris here in NOLA car wrapped in DOMINO'S PIZZA...it was kewl...too bad I didn't have my camera...next time I see him...I will have to take a pic. ;)

I've seen several of them around town here in Baton Rouge, but I see more of the sedans than I do the hatchbacks. I saw a silver hatchback and a blue hatchback today, along with a black and a blue Yaris sedan.
I've cruised I-10 through Kenner many times. I used to live in the NOLA area and in fact, grew up in Kenner. I haven't been back that way in a few years though, since taking the in-laws to the Quarter.
I'd like to see that Domino's Yaris, I bet that looks cool.
Later...

I think it's great people are discovering the Yaris, but as more people do, we won't be as unique as we once were.
On Thursday, I spotted 5 Yarii on the way home from work, just driving down Florida Blvd. I saw a red hatchback, a black hatchback, a black sedan, and 2 green sedans. That's probably the most I've seen in one day.
My wife refers to it as my "funny looking little car," but I like it all the same.

Great to see another BTR Yaris owner here. I average around 32mpg, but almost all of my driving is stop and go traffic. I took a trip to Marksville this weekend and managed 42MPG there and back.
I've had mine 2 years and love it!

NOLA here.
I see plenty of them around the area I work. New Orleans East.
But all of them have older people driving, so I doubt they are on here.
I even saw one today, black sedan, with factory fog lights, driven by an elderly lady.
There is a Toyota dealer in the east, so that probably helps Toyota sales out there.
