clay bar or mineral spirits(just don't get it on the paint)

3m polish, the pink one. use with microfiber rag or a drill adapter.

mineral spirits will work great

another thing not many people know of is to use dish washing soap (its strips wax)

i use dish soap when ever im going to rewax the car. it totally strips off all the old wax prior to waxing

Mineral spirits are fine to get on the paint, it wont harm it but it will also strip the wax. I use mineral spirits to lean painted parts all the time but dish soap will work just as well and is cheaper

+1 on the Dawn dish soap - I did the same thing a few summers ago on my Mustang, and I was freaking out. I tried Palmolive, Tide laundry soap, and some off brand dish soap - and in the end, it was Dawn that got the wax off.

So yeah, try the Dawn!
