A bit of history....

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist minister, a Christian socialist, and the cousin of socialist utopian novelist Edward Bellamy (1850-1898). Bellamy's original "Pledge of Allegiance" was published in the September 8th issue of the popular children's magazine The Youth's Companion as part of the National Public-School Celebration of Columbus Day, a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's discovery of America, conceived by James B. Upham.

Bellamy's original Pledge read, "I Pledge Allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

The pledge was supposed to be quick and to the point. Bellamy designed it to be stated in 15 seconds. He had initially also considered using the words equality and fraternity[citation needed] but decided they were too controversial since many people opposed equal rights for women and blacks.

After a proclamation by President Benjamin Harrison, the Pledge was first used in public schools on October 12, 1892 during Columbus Day observances. This date was also significant as it was the dedication day of the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. Bellamy thought that the pledge itself and the involvement of children across the country would be a fine show of national solidarity.

Here was the so-called "Bellamy Salute". Look familiar?

It should.... Supposedly known as the "Roman Salute" it was used by the Nazis. No evidence exists that Roman soldiers used this gesture.

So the next time someone talks about the "Pledge" consider that it did not exist at the start of the US, in fact it's bit more than half the age of the Republic.

Not surprised. According to this article from Sept '04 (http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/september2004/250904helpedhitler.htm), Prescott Bush (A tire salesman who rose to power by corrupted practices, and George W.'s grandpa) was involved with the financing of Nazi Germany by laundering money to Hitler for years...

No, though in retrospect it seems that way. Hitler despised the US, thinking us "mongrels under the control of International Jewry".

Though it might interest some that the spread of Germans into Russia was "justified" by a similar "Manifest Destiny" that lead Americans to exterminate our own Native peoples. Some apologists felt that the extermination of Jews, Slavs and other "subhuman species" was analogous to the US Indian wars half a century or so earlier.

So was Standard Oil, which conspired with the IG Farben cartels to suppress the introduction of Buna-N rubber into the US. So the US had to use natural rubber tires for a time, and the nationwide speed limit was reduced to - I think - thirty miles an hour to conserve wear on tires.

If you have a chance talk to a bomber pilot or two who served in Europe during World War II... quite a few report being given EXPLICIT instructions NOT to bomb petroleum plants that were owned in part by US firms.

Of course, folks, the White House in the early 1940s dissolved a State Department Research group that was working on Soviet Intelligence penetration into the US. Allegedly at the behest of Eleanor Roosevelt. Part of "Lend Lease" was shipping pilot plants, samples, blue prints and process guides for chemical and fertilizer plants to the Soviets. The whole thing came to light after the Venona intercepts at the start of the Cold War.

Don't really know for sure.... I think during the Cold War, when God appeared on everything official to prove that America was not a Godless nation.

True, even though Hitler praised the US for conquering the natives and building a "model society" for Germany to follow, he only declared war on the US because Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Jewry in the US only fueled the fire. It was just a repeat of the original lame excuse to fight in the first place
