Ordered the kit back in February from Revision Audio, and waited up until now to get my air runners. Japan made 5
kits for the US which is now stocked in Cali, and my serial number is 00001(number 1 of 5)! All I can say is, it was
well-worth the wait...

Air Runner Kit consists of:
2 Front Bellowed Struts
2 Rear Sleeved Bags
1 Tank (Standard or Pancake)
1 Heavy Duty Compressor
1 Mounting Plate
1 Pressure Switch

Optional Items:
Dakota Digital Gauge

Update 6/8/09:
So over the weekend, I took the liberty to play with my car a little bit. The switches are fun to play with, and can be operated while driving the car. There are four switches, each designated to one wheel, are controlled whichever way you'd like to maneuver it. Since this car is my daily driver, the ride does get a little bumpy when the car is low( 1/2" to 1"gap from tire to body of vehicle). A good height to drive the car at is a 1" gap just to be safe. I'm still experimenting on the ride heights, since I can't see outside my car whenever I go over speedbumps and up/down driveways. Made a video over the weekend which can now be seen on youtube. I used up a lot of air to operate the car within that short amount of time.

In my opinion, the ride is pretty close to stock. There's not a significant difference from what I can feel. But if you do decide to ride pretty low, that's when the bags tend to bounce a little.

I don't have to go easy on the bags, not like I'm riding on balloons  The air runners is strong enough to handle my type of daily driving.

The standard price is about $3,000. Depending on who you know, you can get it for less  talk to cali yaris, I'm sure he can help you.

The video is cool. This seems like a great solution to lowering the car for performance, but then being able to raise it for bad roads, speed bumps, etc.

So, can you raise and lower the front and rear separately, so you can make it bounce like a lowrider while sitting at stop lights?

It actually is a great solution when you feel like riding low and not scraping your bumper while going up driveways, and other small obstacles. I have four switches to control each wheel so I can utitilize which wheel I want to go up and down. Lol sorry man, the car cannot bounce!

Nice set up!

I have alot of experience with bagged vehicles, mostly trucks, and I'm almost certain if one would want to go the air cylinder route it would be atleast half that, if not 1/3. Give me a min and I'll look it up.

Prices w/o shipping costs:
50ft of 3/8" DOT Reinforced Air Line...$20
Viair 325 150 PSI...$155
3/8" SMC Valve 8 Pack...$235
Pancake Air Tank...$100
SMC 3/8" Check Valve with Fittings...$25
SMC Inline Compressor Oiler 3/8" (optional)...$30
110/145 PSI Non-Adj Press. Switch...$18
Airlift Easystreet 200 PSI Single Needle X4 and 50ft 1/4" Airline for gauges (optional)...$90
Black Smoke 10-Switch Box...$30
SMC Water Trap 3/8" (optional)...$30
Didn't feel like adding up the cost of every fitting required but I'm sure $100 is overgenerous

Comes out to about $850 w/o cylinders which I have no clue on pricing but it is well under $500 a piece, lol.

This is just to let everyone know what they'll need since there are only so many made. I dunno, seems like a pointless post now that I've gone through the trouble, lol.

ok, this might sound like an ass question, but what is the main difference between this kit and the other two or three I can buy? My guess would have to be with the brackets for the bags as the components are pretty staright forward and can be had pretty much anywhere. Thanks.

The main difference between air runner and any other application you would buy is that air runner is a complete bolt on application. The ride is also supposed to be significantly greater than any other air ride applications.

Contents include:

2 Front Bellowed Struts
2 Rear Sleeved Bags
1 Tank (Standard or Pancake)
1 Heavy Duty Compressor
1 Mounting Plate
1 Pressure Switch

What are the other two or three you can buy? I'm curious because some brands are questionable.

I think there are a few differences.
1) Air Runner reputation and quality. Sure it's a little pricey, but same reason why you buy a Panasonic TV versus Zenith TV.
2) It's a kit specifically for the Yaris - not a universal kit that you would have to modify to fit.
3) I think the front bellowed struts are Air Runner exclusives (?) You can buy the bags (Firestone) and other related parts but you'd have to piece them together yourself.

oops, sorry forgot all about this. I had seen StreetBeatCustoms had a kit for about $1200 that included Air Compressor, Manifold Valve, 5 gallon air tank, 10 switch box, 50 ft 3/8 airline, 4 Air bags, Front and Rear Brackets, Fittings, PSI switch.

Air Runner is a proven company that backs the product 100%. I've seen them on most of the show cars out here -- if I were bagging my own car, I wouldn't use any other brand (mostly because I don't know enough about reliability with others, but I do with these guys).

I have an Air Runner account now, if anyone is (seriously) interested, I can get them for you.

One major comparison between air runner and any other airbag suspension is the ride, that is...from my experience. We need more people to get it!

Looks really nice, but with such a small tank and only one compressor, you cant play too much with it at one time sadly enough.
a 10 gallon and 2 viars would make it a bit more fun

808_Yaris
07-15-2009, 06:33 AM
^hmm it can go up and down about 3-5 times, which is pretty good. i needed space in my trunk for my future audio setup, so i went with the small "pancake" tank. People normally would use this tank shown in the picture below for their air runner setup.
