My Yaris has the Sound system that adjusts the stereo volume automatically as I accelerate and decellerate.. This is fine most of the time.. but I'm wondering, how do I disable it? (I suppose I could read the manual but thats at home and I'm at work.. )

ASL (I think) - turn it off
press in the volume ctrl knob till you see ASL then go as low as u can go
cant hurt to try.

I'm sorry, its the knob on the right hand side of the stereo, press is 3 or 4 times you'll see the stero say "ASL - High" i think is the default level.

What models do ppl have that have the ASL feature built in? (volume auto increases/descreases depending on your speed)?
I have a Canadian Yaris Hatchback 5 Door LE w/ the single MP3 CD player, and I dont have this option.
I would have been cool.

My American (bah, JDM-US specs. let's get it right!) HB doesn't have that option with the right knob, and actually, ASL isn't mentioned in the manual, so I'm assuming it's not. In any case, it's not like the engine is overly noisy, at least, compared to my old Prizm...

the idea behind it was that the faster your going the more "road noise" so inorder to still hear the music at the same level music the car automatically increase's the volume, and as you slow down it lowers the volume.
