It's nice, but the Abarth version is the one worth getting (which I'm pretty sure won't be available around these parts).

I'd be perfectly happy with the regular version myself (100hp). I love the interior too.

Jeremy Clarkson seems to like it too.

Its a nice looking car, reminds of the old times. I mostly like the current Fiat design but they have other problems. Fiat is well known over here for "not so good" technical quality compared to other manufacturers. But they are cheap here.

I grew up in a world that had Fiats in it in the 1970s. They were the known for their low price, constant mechanical problems and extremely short life . I am told that is still the reputation that thay have in Europe.

I really like the 500, too. However, I do wonder what the quality will be like. I have heard they are towards the bottom on reliability, too.

toyota, could you please do something like this with the interior of the next yaris so it doesnt scream "hey, this car is cheap" when looking at the interior. the incoming fiesta, this fiat, the polo, the fit (which is a bit busy but not so chincy looking), and even the rio and accent, have interiors that outshine the yaris interior, some dramatically so. quirky but cheap doesnt cut it in this class anymore.

I may just go for one if they offer it in Mexico (which isn't out of the question if it's going to be offered in the US). The question is: Would it replace my Yaris?!

If they bring the Abarth version over here I'd get it in a heartbeat. The standard one, not so much.

I LOVE THE FIAT CINQUECENTO...

I will be waiting in line to buy one... My foot is twitching just thinking about it

I am Italian, and I travel to Italy every year... and my Aunt has owned a 70 something Cinquecento since the day I met her when I was 8... I have so many found memories of stealing that car and going joy riding the Italian dirt roads...

I have been waiting since 1998 for this day to come... and the only reason I bought a Yaris was to get my self ready to drive a small car again...

Sad I know... sorry guys!

Ok ok ok... Maybe the Cinquecento... If the Alfa MiTo comes, Mr. Cinquecento might have some competioin... But then again even the MiTo might fall short... Im so excited I just dont know what to do... Wait and see I guess...

Exterior looks a little too round and cutesy for me, but the interior is one of the best I've ever seen

Performance and handling wise I'm convinced it's no different than the Yaris

As glad as I am to have the 500 come over here, perceptions about Fiat (and Chrysler) reliability will have me on the sidelines and very happy to keep my Yaris. I am certain Fiat's build quality is better than in years past (could it be worse?) but it is still an unknown at this point.

Iconic styling/shapes are very cool, but they do tend to limit how a car can evolve. MINI is facing this as is (I would assume) the Beetle. The car's classic looks become a bit of a trap...this could easily happen w/ the 500. I am glad the Yaris or the iQ have little of this baggage...leaves room for more innovation, imo.

That said, if Chrysler is going to offer a small car, they are lucky to be able to bring something (if they handle it right) that will create some real buzz. I hope it succeeds.

Fiats are like "cryslers" good in concept, lousy in execution: good ideas, nice design, constant repairs and things that don't work the way they should and can't be fixed...
