For my second tank, I didn't even bother calculating it on the dealer tank.

About 40/60 city highway, through the rolling hills of Missouri, not even past it's first oil change.

This thing is an animal! I must say, I'm impressed. Can't wait to see how Big Yellow takes his first long distance trip.

You say "wohoo" now, but just wait till you hit the 45mpg mark...

Then you will be cursing when you get "just" 42.2 haha! You will fill up and think, "aww it's only 42 mpg..."

The car is a beast though, and in a few months when you start taking the fuel economy for granted it's nice to look back and say "wohoo! I still get over 40 MPG!"

Congratulations Zaphod!

The 2007 models were rated at 34 MPG city, 39 highway with automatic transmission, 34/40 with a manual. Beginning with the 2008 models the EPA mileage test driving cycle was changed and the mileage went to 29/35 auto, 29/36 manual. The cars didn't change, the test did.

Also, after that first oil change a lot of us noticed a massive increase in fuel economy too! Once the break-in period is over, you will really be cookin'!

Sorry, I mean 40% city driving 60% highway, it's a best guess. I've been doing more street driving than I care for lately. :)

I just started doing that. I always used compression braking, but I only just started trying to glide as much as possible in 5th, as I never realized that it completely shut off the fuel.

Actually there are some excellent tips in the stickies here.

Now I just really want a scangauge to see exactly what I am doing right/wrong.
