Is this how it's done? Does'nt seem like a good practice....:iono:
Also, who dumps a clutch at 8000RPM?!
Stoopid!

He was launching it... thats alright. i do that to my skyline all the time...
Those engines can take the beating, but dont know how long for.
Wonder what happens if you do it to the yaris engine.

It's bad for clutch, axles, and diffs; launch that is. He prolly shifted too late. Even if he makes power all the way to the rev limiter, it's slows you down to actually hit it. In the S2000 I launched at 6k and shifted at 9.2k, rev limiter at 9.3k. Being AWD, traction is no problem so launching that high is fine. Yaris, being FWD, you definitely won't have traction, so you'd lose alot of time spinning. I have no tach, but I'd assume I launch somewhere around 3-3.5k. You wanna spin a little, but too much and it turns into a bad run. Just my $.02.

I'd think the Yaris would bite the dust if you tried a stunt like that!
BOOM!
It probably has a cheapie, lightweight clutch OEM....:iono:

I would put money on that car being built, the revs are raised a good deal higher than stock, and it'll be fine so long as he doesn't do that daily.

he DID NOT bounce off the rev limiter before shifting. he just never lifted his foot to shift.

perfect acceleration.

oh and... the 1nzfe is perfectly happy with being bounced off it's low rev limiter. won't hurt it a bit.

Launching at 5000+rpm is no go for my yaris. ends up burning more clutch than tires.
but a 3000-4000rpm launch is perfect, bone stock with some good summer shoes.

you know, this one is even crazier.

Oh, lol, I didn't actually watch the video. I do it accidentally from time to time. Though it stops making power before. I dunno when, I need a tach lol.

power shifting ftw

used to rev to 6k in my xrs to launch at the strip. too high and you spin tires, too low and you bog.....low tq ftw

i agree, besides the stupid rev and dump i frequently bounce off redline from 1st to 3rd. i feel it helps our LEARNING computer adjust to my agressive driving habits.
