so you start at $2300
then add the cost of shipping a product into the US with the weak dollar
then add the costs of making it pass US regulations
then add the costs associated with introduing a completely new brand
at this point is it worth buying over a $9970 Hyundai Accent? Not in my book it's not!
Products can be successful without being in the US market and this is a prime example. Tata can make loads of profit on this car by selling it to those in the areas it was originally designed for. I'm not saying Tata shouldn't try to enter the US market alongside its Land Rover and Jaguar brands but this just isn't the best model to do it with in my opinion. But hey competition is a good thing so let them bring it.
