Installed CD player but no FM radio

I was given a used sony cd player with 10 disc changer. I just installed it today with a buddy. Everything works well, but the FM radio, we double checked the wiring, but is there something we should check? I really don't want to replace the deck, and I'd definately like to have the radio working. There is just static on each station, I assume the tuner has to be no good on the unit. Would this be expensive or worth fixing?

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it possible to install a radio on top of my current deck?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

sounds like the antenna wire fell down inside the center console when you pulled the stock radio.

double check this, let us know ;)

Are you talking about the single black antennae wire that looks like an rca plug? Because that one is plugged in, or is there another wire I'm missing?

It's funny, I installed the lowering springs on the car but I'm a total newbie when it comes to the stereo!

if the antenna is properly installed, then yeah it sounds like the tuner is bad
