3 hp can be related to temperature, humidity or several other variables.

But, you can't just look at peak HP. Peak HP is good for one thing and one thing only: bragging rights. Who cares? Look at the torque curve before and after. Did you sacrifice any torque to get a smidgen of extra peak HP? That's what's important.

what mods do you have to make 111whp?

same variables as the list time. and actually its hotter now since its summer than when i did it in the spring. did not lose any tq but gained about 3 also. Peak Hp is what basically all the dynos post here have been using so i though it was relevant.

I, too, would like to know. That's about...13 whp higher than stock, or thereabouts.

Edit: saw your post just after I made mine :P

13HP at the WHEELS over stock.. which is crank rated hp

a 13whp gain over stock is not bad for five bolt-ons.

sounds like a fat dyno to me... plus the guy didn't even bother grabbing a crank signal.. mph dyno graphs blow.

yea hmm wat next... Custom cat back i guess.Need to get rid of my steelies and get something lighter too. Still doing my research for F/I. Trying to understand the basics of tuning. So much info:redface:.

he did do it i just forgot to put it in rpm. Just match it with the others it is a mirror basically. Every dyno is diff usually with this low whp you can expect a +/-2 variance. it could be fat or the others could just be stingy :iono:

agreed. and this is why you should always return to the same dyno for every new pull :)

went from 108 hp and 103 tq to 111 hp and 106tq with just the TB upgrade isn't too shabby for just bolt-ons.

I port-matched the intake manifold on my old 2001 Ford Focus, which also had a plastic manifold, to a larger aftermarket TB. Easy to do; just don't remove to much material. I plugged the IM with rag, ran a vacuum cleaner to suck out the shavings, and used a Dremel tool. It helps to have a second person holding the vacuum, obviously! Also, with a plastic IM anda a Dremel, don't run the tool at too high of a speed for melting reasons.

I can't imagine it'd be much more different on a Toyota ...

i put down 104 hp 104 tq with the TB, k&n intake, and underdrive pulleys. he has done a header and exhaust and made 7 more hp. sweet :)

I had a Brospeed on my 98 Civic, too. I bought it in 2004, I think. Well made, inexpensive, too.

Which TB you put on it??? I know someone told it but check if the TB port match because you'll have a restriction over there, remember it will suck air from a 1.75" or something like that in the stock port of the 1nz vs if you port to 2.25" like the 1zz or the TB you used. If you don't port will not gain too much.

I paid about US$112 installed, great sound will post youtube asap, just trying to do the tb swap this weekend hoping to pickup a 1zz tb at any of the local used parts shops if not I'll get it from Garm, set up with the swap already.
