View Full Version : How much for dealer installed power windows?
I'm afraid to ask... but I want OEM power windows. How much do you think the dealer would charge?
BTW how much was the "power package" on the window sticker from 2007?
TIA

Ummm, when I had asked for power windows and locks, the damn dealership never told me it would be some craptastic third party company. Biggest BS I've ever bought. Make sure you state that you want the OEM TOYOTA power package. Might cost more since they're going to replace the door panels and add some wiring and motors to the side mirrors.

You will need all new door panels, door switches, some trim, motors, motor mounts, wiring harness, possibly some relay.
no way, it will cost you an arm AND a leg. The amount of money you will spend on doing OEM parts, you are likely to have a better deal buying the yaris with the convenience package.
Good advice. I'm not wanting everything powered just the windows... but I guess it come with the locks too. The window and lock switches come in a set.

Yeah, I think it would make more financial sense to actually get a new 2009.
Toyota is offering 0% financing and other incentives on '09's right now which was unheard of in '07 and '08. Plus you get standard side airbags and ABS.
If power is that important. I don't have power and it's really no big deal.

Small correction, the convenience package is separate from the power package.
The power pack replaces the convenience group.

I've always had convertibles, right now the Yaris is my only car and I got this urge to have the windows down  all the time.
The 09 good value but I got too many mods tied up witht my 07 (and I kinda like the 07-08 design better :iono:)

Power locks are way more important to me than power windows although I wish I had both. *So tired of reaching through the car all the time to lock/unlock the doors*

I panned both power locks and windows because 1) I am old-fashioned, 2) mistrust gadgets, and 3) had too many weird issues w/ the units on my last two cars (not Yarises). I can understand the convenience....but be careful what you ask for. I trust me elbow more than those crazy motors!!!

my 93 suzuki swift has perfectly working powerlocks and powerwindows for over 12 years that we had it, until it started having massive reliability issues (engine), and the frame was pretty bent and rusted.

I work for Toyota, and I will ask at work today and post the price tonight. Mind you, different dealerships might charge different rates, especially on labor. But I will do my best to get an ESTIMATE of the parts you will need. I believe I was told between $300 and $500 per door when I was looking at a base Yaris and adding stuff. I ended up with all 3 packages... cold weather, power, and conveinence (sp?). There are some pretty sweet deals on almost all of our vehicles right now too. Check out Toyota.com and see for yourself. Also, I am trying to hint that the Yaris TS would be a great show room car, but as there is only room for one vehicle on our showroom floor, the new Toyota Venza is siting there. I still tell people about how truly roomy the Yaris is, and about the excellent gas mileage, and about how safe they really are. But yeah, prices will be posted tonight for the power windows, and I'll see if I can get an estimate on power locks as well.

power pack was $750 when I bought my 2007 liftback. I didn't get it, my prefernce being the extra light weight, almost unbreakable windows that you must crank down manually.......

Sorry, but I forgot to ask... I was putting together a Rav4, a 4Runner, and getting a Yaris ready for show all day yesterday. Some people are way over picky about what they NEED in a car, vs what comes in a car. The Rav4 Sport model does NOT come with leather seats, or with a navigation system, so I had to find who would install them, and what price they wanted to install them on a vehicle for a lady. Ended up taking most of my day. Then the 4Runner person and Yaris person never showed up. It's hard being a car salesman. I will check on Monday though, and post it about 9pm mountain time. Again, sorry for the delay.

At $300 per door (with power locks of course... it's on the same switch pack right?) then I'd do it in a heartbeat :w00t:.
If any local dealerships want my business (with OEM parts) lemme know, I'm currently in Torrance, CA 90501.

Ok, so it is officially somewhere upwards of $1,200 for power windows and the same for the locks. OUCH!!! Get them installed before hand, and it not only saves you money, but it helps with the resale value. I got the quote almost 2 weeks ago, but I checked around just to be sure. Yeah, it is that expensive. Sorry for the delay and the heartbreak. If anyone has any dealer related questions, I would be happy to help as much as legally possible.

Power pkg is the way to go. Best $1290 I ever spent. I also think that's the only way to get the 60/40 slider seats and the better Goodyear tires.......
