Yes. Just copy the folder(s) from the installation CD to the USB drive.

You know, while we're on the subject. Im getting a weak wifi signal (free wifi) with the notebook sitting on my desk at home. Is there anyway to improve the signal? If the wifi comes in I wouldnt need the modem at all.

Nope. Try moving your laptop to a different location in the house. See if that improves the signal. Where is the WiFi coming from? (you said it's free so I'm assuming you don't actually have wireless router or access point hardware of your own.)

Oh man my head hurts. No...I dont have a router or anything. There are four wifi's identified when you startup. One of them doesnt need a password (Trend?) Wussa wifi card? I thought wifi reciever was built into the notebook? If I get this card will it help? How do you get at the wifi card settings? That must be in Windows? I guess the first thing is take it outside or upstairs. Thanks for all the help! Im new at this.

I was looking in hardware installed and found out the notebook has a "soft" modem in it. What is a soft modem? There is no phone jack on the outside for it.

make sure you select the proper adapter, i see you have a ethernet adapter and the wireless card. the wireless card is the atheros one so right click on it and go to properties advanced and look for all the settigns you should have one that says power save mode , make sure its disabled
I did shutoff the power saver. I get a useable signal sitting on the front porch. Thanks for the guided tour!
