I'm getting a 1987 Suzuki Samurai 4x4 for only $900. Runs fine 4x4 works great. It will be a fun little project.

Thats cool, I followed one to Kragen the other day, it was lifted on big tires, CB antenna and stuff, looked like a mini Monster truck.

Be aware of that vehicle's tendency to roll over due to its unusually high center of gravity. Back in the 80's we used to joke, "Beep, beep. Hi! Oh, shit!".

That and some insurance companies will not insure that vehicle. I had one many years ago but got rid of it as every insurance company I went with ended up dropping me due to the type of vehicle, history of the vehicle etc.

Samurai's aren't really that dangerous, just drive with a healthy respect for the vehicle.
If you know it's prone to tip over don't take sharp turns at 50.

Exactly, don't drive it like a sports car and you'll be ok. My Tundra is lifted and I took the front sway bar off for better performance offroad, I drive it very conservative since it leans a little more than stock (disclaimer: I have 700lb in. springs that stiffen the ride considerably).

Just for everyone's info, the consumer reports test that had the Samurai tipping over tainted the test. It took them 10, TEN, tries to get the samari to tip and then only on two wheels, it never did tip over. If I tried hard enough I could get a vet to tip over. consumer reports have distorted a lot of their tests and destroyed some good cars. I owned Suzukis for almost 12 years and never had a problem with them. Great little 4 x 4's

Well "41magmag41", the tests are that way because they have to rely on crappy american driving. Crappy drivers could probaly flip over an F1 car if you gave em one =p.. same reason there are signs that say DO NOT TOUCH right next to a WARNING HIGH VOLTAGE

Thank you for posting this. The Consumer Reports Samurai test was indeed tainted, and Suzuki sued CR. They settled out of court.

However, the damage was done, and many Americans still think "roll over" when they think Suzuki--any Suzuki--which hurt the company quite badly in terms of PR. (I also own a 2009 Suzuki SX4 AWD, by the way.)
