Hi there. I have a Yaris 2005, which has the default Toyota alarm installed.
Upon returning from shopping, I noticed that I just had the car key -- no remote dongle on my key chain (it apparently got torn off while I was putting the key in my pocket). So I had to unlock the car manually, alarm blaring, and I unplugged all the connectors - fortunately the ignition worked, and the alarm stopped when I unplugged everything :)
So now I have an alarm, but no button (Over the years, I managed to lose the second set of remote). I am told that I'd have to get a new alarm because it's not possible to "learn" the code of the old alarm, and to come up with a compatible dongle for it.
I was wondering where I could find a plug-compatible alarm -- (toyota's own alarm seems prohibitively expensive) so I would not have to re-wire the whole thing from scratch.
Many thanks, -turgut
