Can anyone post pictures of their faded rear bumper protector? I'd like to see what all the fuss is about with it.

There were lots of threads or posts somewhere about the new rear bumper protectors fading over time, but I never saw any pics. of this. Everyone agreed that the original rear bumper protector (with the honeycomb pattern) was the best one since it doesn't fade as much / at all.

Yea, there's a bunch of threads about the one that rolls over the lip. Everyone was claiming that if you spent anytime in the sun with it that it would fade to gray.

I don't like the honeycomb one because it doesn't roll over the edge of the bumper. It's pointless. When I load things in the hatch I slide them up the lip. I am going to buy this bumper protector regardless, but I did want to see how bad it was.

sorry i don't have any pics but i do have the model that rolls over the edge and it DOES fade to a grey color and in only six months too. I got rear ended and had to have another bumper put on, so i cleaned it really well and sprayed it with krylon fusion in a flat black came out looking pretty good, i'll see how long the paint lasts, if it fades out again i'll most likely buy the honeycomb model.

And you use this before it fades - and even apply to the car?

$3.79 here.

Do you have to reapply this periodically?

it is unprotected ABS plastic. You need to add some protection to it at some point.
