What did you do to your car today? I think it's kinda interesting. Anything from just washing/cleaning to mods or whatever.
today I listen to my favorite Sweetbox's new albumn from my beloved Eonon stereo (http://www.eonon.com/Specified-Car-Player/E1057.html?utm_source=yarisworld.com&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum), and gave my baby car a bath, seems totally new borned now!
For the first time, the last bar on the gas gauge started blinking on me! I get to buy gas for the first time with the Yaris!
I also added a small figurine to the interior because I thought it would fit... maybe it will.

I just had the best time ever...I love the steering on this car nevermind the amazing turning radius. I am highly amused!!!!!
In addition, I pondered.......pondered lowering, pondered a sway bar, pondered a Scangauge. Man, I am good at talking myself out of things. If I pushed the car, fine, suspension mods may be nice, but I don't really...just a fun urban commuter car. I also drove myself nuts hypermiling. Fun as it was, I found myself getting agitated trying to reach higher and higher mpg goals.
No, I think I need to just enjoy the car "as is" for awhile, but it was still an interesting exercise.

I did absolutely nothing with it yesterday. It sat in the garage while I did the grocery and errand running with my bicycle and trailer (26 miles), and then we carpooled with some family to the home of some other family for a Father's Day barbecue.
I won't drive it today, either. I will bicycle to and from my carpool, and we have an evening at home planned.
I will probably drive it tomorrow due to a heavy and large load, but only for about 7 miles. Perhaps I'll verify the tire pressure before leaving.

I have also installed some new white halogen bulbs for my headlights (about 3.5€ for the pair) and they didnt wash out and they are awesome! Havent got a pic yet.
I'm still working on my LED conversion, I've bought some LED panels for the map lights, they are awesome too, I've also changed those little bulbs in the headlight (white LEDs) and put the same bulb in the license plate light. I also bought an LED bulb for my reverse light, ot has 100-ish smds on it, but haven't seen a difference from the stock bulb - apart from colour. Oh I almost forgot I also changed the trunk light, I will take some pics tonight!
I also have been working on my other car the Avensis, but it's a bit harder for me to get to the headlights, I guess when I really have the time I'll try again. Cheers!

It was technically last week, but I swapped my Tokico Blues for Reds and put on a fresh set of MI springs. Setting them to "3 turns from full hard" has made a world of difference: no rude noises or harsh ride when going over speed bumps anymore. After I get it aligned, I'll try setting them to full hard and see how unpleasant it is. =)

Couple of days ago I replaced the original antenna with a shorter one and painted it blue to match the colour of the car. I also repaired the interior dome light switch. (cheers to CTScott for providing with a spare cover )
Yesterday I replaced the tail light bulbs with 7443 LEDs. Looking nice and crisp! I also repaired my trunk LED light. (was flickering whenever I'd hit the side of the trunk because of a loose connection)
Today I washed the car and changed the signal lights with another set of 7443 LEDs. Now I've run into the hyper-blinking issue. Will have to buy an LED turn signal flasher now to fix this problem.

If we could change bulbs at the wing turn signals, and put led in there, hyper flashing wouldnt be a problem.
Also, can you post a pic with the leds on? Today I'll try to change them too.... Also, your turn signals are 7443? Mine are 7507 (with offset).

I did. Only to make my life a lot easier. There's not much room to work with if you leave them on.
They're easy to remove. I just followed the instructions in this video, but instead of installing a new housing I changed the bulbs I wanted and re-installed the original housing.

I know, only the turn signal bulbs and the reverse light can be accessed. I've changed my reverse light with an LED with 102smds but its not that much of a difference. i also changed my license plate bulb and my headlights to 6000k halogen. All-white conversion haha

Hope they work out better than the Sylvania Silverstars I put in last year. Both blew after 5 months. Nice while working, but never again.

Eek, I hope so. I avoided the Silverstars because I hate any lights which throw that bluish tint out there. It distracts me when other cars have that, so I didn't want to do that to anyone else. I am also bargaining on the XtraVisions being a bit of a better balance between light output and decent lifespan.

There was no blue in mine. Pure white.

Did you need a resistor for the turn signals? Do they rapid flash?

They do flash rapidlly. Haven't added any resistors yet. So far, I've ordered a new signal flasher, and will try to replace the original one once it arrives.

Let me know how the flasher relay works. I tried this on one of my jeeps and the led flasher relay didn't work all that well so I just went back to conventional bulbs.

Success! The new flasher relay arrived today. I just finished the swap moments ago and tested it. No more hyper-blinking turn signals. No need for resistors either. Extra points for being a cheap and a direct plug-and-play mod. Now I'll have to see how long it lasts for. (hopefully for the life of the car)

Here's a small video. The flashing speed is good, but the light stays on for a bit before it starts flashing.

Astro: I used 7443 led bulbs for the rear turn signals. Not sure what the "proper" replacement leds are.
WeeYari: I can make a separate thread in the DIY section if you think people might find it useful.

Nice! I've been getting a little bored with my car lately and toying with the idea of lowering it. I think it would inject some life into it for me.

I didn't do a damned thing because I am forever being held up by not being able to get the parts I need. She is still totally torn down in the front. My new custom turbo manifold should be to me by the end of the month at least and then I can start working on putting her back together. Figure out the retrofit radiator install and the new IC pipe routing as well as custom mounting of the battery.
