Well, through Tamago, i found out that Spec Miata wheels fit out car. AWESOME!! mostly bc they are cheap, wide, have great offsets and are light!! So i got 15x7 +25 at 13lbs a piece!! They look FANTASTIC!! if any of you guys still worry about offsets, this is the right fitment. Anything higher is subpar in my book. So i got two pics, ill take more later. I have a test today and lots to do, so ill get more later. And for reference, 195/55/15 dunlop direzzas.

The car is VERY dirty. And yes i have a dent in my door, i live downtown. And i dont have the peguin spacers in yet either.

Thanks! Seriously, the fact that Spec Miata wheels fit our car is awesome... That opens up a ton of light weight, racing spec wheels for us!!

I'm using my memory here so don't kill me if i am wrong. From the Tokico HTS thread i remembered him saying he had DFs with HTS shocks.

Nice. i thought it was sitting nicer than DFs normally do.

I was about to say something about why doesn't the rear look like a 4x4 with 11 inchers on there but saw this thread---> http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18934 .:w00t:

NO RUBBING!! I was really worried about that myself! I think it COULD be an issue at the next autox, but it may not be. It should not be an issue at the track.

The Hyperco Rear springs that I modified.

Those ones! LOL...
I actually have a track event next weekend. I am going to check them out and bring both sets of rear springs. I will swap them back and forth (so easy now) and see what i like.

Another +1 for Good-Win-Racing. I've bought Miata wheels from Brian in the past and he's been great. Their shipping prices are high if you're out on the east coast, but the service is top notch.

I should be ordering mine next week, Im going to reuse my 205/50/ 15 proxes4 on these from my advans. they were 15x6.5 +32 and I rarely rubbed in the back on my S-Techs with a 5mm spacer. I hope it still stays clear, I would feel funny rolling for a 15" wheel lol.

is that what you are running? Im just curious how its going to act since a 205/50 is a little on the beefy side. Thats how I like my tires though.

205 50 is undersized. 205 55 is closer to stock height. i'm a 225 50 butttt... my car also has hips to accommodate

Ive noticed. 225s are hard to find in a decent sidewall though. I used to be a huge goodyear fan but now I like toyos but the Proxes biggest and lowest was a 205/50 15.
Oh I Emailed Good-win last night and referenced you to see if they had the 15x7 +25s in stock still. I hope thats okay, I probably should have asked first.

A friend of mine went to order a set of TDMs from there and said they were out of stock. haha I'm just so excited because I loved those wheels. I dont want to get my hopes up. I didnt know they were so accessable in the states. The set I bought I got from Icy/Phoenix Racing's Koni Challenge car. According to them they were hard to get in a 17x8 +45. The offset was a custom job through TDM.

Not a big fan of Hankooks. Sidewalls are too soft for me. And their tread wear is just too fast for a tire that I will DD. For example, I prefer these. (my previous tires)
B.Stone Potenza REO70
Goodyear F1 GSD3
Goodyear Eagle Response Edge (my fav tire of all time)
Dunlop Direzza Z1
Toyo Proxes RA-1
Falken Azenis RT-615 (loudest tire ever, worst removal ever lol)
I have the Proxes4 on right now and I think it actually suits this little car well. I wish I would have done the RA-1.
Keep in mind though those tires were all on my Subaru, the only tires I have tried on this car besides the stock LS was the Falkens. They came on my Advans when I got them. I just like a tire with a chunky hard sidewall thats all.

i've heard similar complaints on the hankooks from subaru owners.
but on a lightweight car, i found my RS2's to be an awesome all-around tire.
Keith Tinari
08-04-2009, 11:18 AM
I wont argue, subarus are pigs lol. It may be something to look into later on after the toyos die. Hankooks are fairly inexpensive.

the direzzas have been an AWESOME tire, but from what i hear, the new toyo R1R is the best out there right now.

Ive heard the same thing also. Im just afaid its going to be a noisey one. I work for STS auto so I get a pretty decent discount on tires. I got mine for 250 for all 4.

They were at 99 yesterday when I looked again, Looks like Im getting the 1.3's in silver instead. Haha I was just getting okay with the anthricite too. I dont usually like darker wheels. Oh well it wasnt meant to be, I just have to shell out an extra 40 dollars.

okay so, whats the difference between these two. They are both listed as silver, I like the shiny ones better. (#2) I am going to order #2 since they are cheaper. I just hope they are that color when I get them.

the 1.3 is the "better" wheel. they weight the same bc of the spec miata rules, but 1.3 is stronger, and flexes less. The spokes are supposed to be much better at preventing damage as well.

thats funny you posted that. I was going to buy those wheels on tirerack. same color and size. A friend of mine with an Xa showed me those.
I think I am going to do the Konig Re-Tracks, 15x7.5 +32 in pearl white. Its more what I was looking for. I just hope 205s will fit on that rim right. Im not a fan of stretched tires at all.

well, you can't buy them in that color, cuz i painted them myself
205's will be just past square on a 7.5" wheel, but it should look pretty good. that's a 225 on an x8 in the above pic.
either way, post pix when you get them!
