View Full Version : Anyone with beefy 205/60/15's on their stock steelies? Pic's?

I know the usual rule of thumb is:

185/60/15
195/55/15
or even
205/55/15

...but I know 205/60's will fit as they compare in overall size as 215/45/17's that many people have on their Yaris's.

I want to go with a very full look as I've decided to put off my purchase of larger wheels.

Plus, the 60 series gives you longer lasting options in a touring tire while the 55's stay high performance with less all season traction and wear.

Anyone here with some pics (on stock steelie with cover)?

Thanks

195/60 is a common replacement size. There's a Vitz I sometimes see around here that has 205/60's on stock suspension. Fair bit of sidewall on that application... looks kinda fat and beefy. I spoke to the owner in the Publix car park, and he says they don't rub at all.

Black Yaris, I've seen several Vitz in Japan running 205/50/17's on stock suspension and they seem to fit quite nicely... and fill out the wheel gap.

I bought my Yaris used and it came with an unusual size of 215/50/15 on the stocks and they actually work well. Although the sidewall height is a bit low on stock suspension. I thing I love about the 215's is that they flair out and almost make the wheel covers look like rims because you don't get that wheel cover edge protruding out. Looks nice and aggressive. That said, I do want to go down to the 205's which is necessary because of the jump to either 55 or 60 series. The 215's only rub ever so slightly on full lockout which is no big deal but I feel the inner stretch is a bit much.
