WR 4-2-1 Header
Nitto Mid-Pipe
Greddy Ti-C axleback Exhaust
the header & mid-pipe is quite quiet, just like the stock one, I can't head any sound from them inside the car...I only can hear the intake & exhaust right now:tongue:
now the car runs pretty smooth without 2 CATs...but the gas smelt very very bad tho:barf:
about the exhaust, really quiet when you compare the HUGE tip with the sound:tongue:
Idel: same as stock (inside the car), low deep tone(outside the car)
under 3500rpm: still pretty quiet(inside the car)
over 3500rpm: started to become loud
forgot to took a picture at the rear...
------------
p.s. any know how to bypass the O2 sensor in the mid-pipe? I'm still working on it:help:

Alain, I think you deserve an award for the most quickly upgraded Yaris here
For the O2 sensor in the midpipe, the common fix is to use a spacer (aka spark plug anti-fouler) or an elbow joint, Garm's got some of those available too, I believe.
BTW the exhaust smell is worst when the car has just been turned on and is in warmup mode (rich mixture) but it's not to bad once it's been running for a while.

It looks like the midpipe and maybe the axle-back are the same diameter piping as stock. Is that true?

It's only a lil bit bigger, but less restrictive overall

Looking good! What's the piping diameter? How does it perform? TIA

I can't warmup my car in my garage anymore, I've to pull it to the driveway first:frown:

Um...the diameter of header is a way bigger than the stock one(front & end), the front of the midpipe is almost 2", but the end is less than 1 3/4, the axle-back is the same as the end of the mid-pipe. so may be that's why doesn't sound too loud~

what's the quietest aftermarket axle back available for the yaris hatchback? is it the TRD? Or is there some Vitz one people can order? I bet that would sound incredible with this set-up.
Also, keep your factory mid-pipe because eventually the first resonator in your nitto mid-pipe will fail on you and start rattling. it cant handle the heat coming from the exhaust.. it ends up burning the packing material around it. At that point i'd probably just cut it out and weld in the factory catalytic converter there. If i was doing it all over again, that's what i'd do anyway.

Also i can't help but noticing your nitto mid pipe looks different than mine... on mine there is a resonator RIGHT after the o2 sensor which caused the car to idle rough. Looks like its been removed. I had mine cut out and it fixed my problem. looks like nitto figured this out and removed it.

Maybe the TRD or Apexi WS II, if your looking for quiet. The Apexi WS is known for being very quiet.

I think mostly because the Ti-C for yaris can't remove the silencer....or may be I don't know how to take it off...it seems the silencer is welded to the tip itself.....

actually I'll clean the under panel every time when it's on the rack:biggrin: plus I'll drive very very slow when I see there's any tarmac & water on the road:rolleyes:

yeah someone ask me that to.. i have one also.. if they fixed the problem then we should be able to send ours back and get one thats fixed! not cool so far.. 2 things ive gotten from nitto where not right.. the torqu dampner ended up making a hole in my strut tower.. and the mid pipe is different and the paper gasket they gave me to attach both halfs of pipe together is blown out already and i got an exhaust leak....

yea.. not too impressed with that mid-pipe personally. The axle back is nice though.. its too loud for me, but its still quiet enough for 99% of people buying an aftermarket exhaust.
i'm willing to bet this new mid-pipe fixes the issues.

The only reason that would happen to a torque damper is because one or more bolts came loose, or weren't tightened properly in the first place. If it fails, it should be at the rubber joint, not where it attaches to the car.

You can't get it out after you take the tip off? It's in there pretty tight, but it shouldn't be welded.

the ring use to lock the screw is welded to the silencer, if I can remove the silencer, that means I can't lock the tip back....you know what I mean:confused:

Just do a little D.I.Y. yesterday, I painted the silencer black because I can't remove it.
Now, it looks better:biggrin:

The solution is simple; use a new set of nuts.
Super clean car, btw, nice job.
