In 1998 a second version was released with dual VVT-i (variable timing on both the intake and exhaust cams), titanium valves, battery-backed injectors and a slightly higher compression ratio (11:1 instead of 10.5:1). This engine powered the Altezza RS200 and produced around 207 bhp (154 kW, 210 PS) @ 7600 rpm.
wiki rocks!

ooh Beams engine. I am planning on going with a silvertop closer to the warranty expiring.

IN the xA or a Yaris?

either. the yaris has more room because of your non-hydraulic steering rack :)

na its in a MKII
they use the silver top for the MKI
and the black top for the is300
i always wanted to get a BEAMS motor so bad, when i first got my MR2 it was the only way i was going to go, then one of the guys here swapped a beams into his MR2 and it was so sad, its nothing like expected power wise. it was a bigger kick but nothing compared to the capabilities of a turbo or V6.
i know when i found one it was 5K for the engine alone, it didnt include the ECU nor the gauge cluster, i could only imagine what they go for now.
its cool if you want a super rare swap to show but producing power your money could be spent on better setups
if I had 2 cars, i would pick up a BEAMS for bragging rights in a heart beat!

I've always like the beams 3S for NA swaps
