Autoguard is a brand owned by Beijing Capital Tire in China.
Here's their website: http://www.capitaltyre.com/indexe.htm
If you go to their products you'll see that their website has been hacked, lol.

A quick search points to Beijing Capital Tyre Company. They could be okay, but I'd probably pay a bit more for a "known" brand.
EDIT: Sorry, I'm a slow typist...

Don't know anything about them, but there are virtually dozens of brands in that size (205/40/17) that are dirt cheap.

I would stick with a well know tire company. Some Chinese tire makers make poor designed tires.

you know, i would just look up what the other people with echos/yarii are using and see what you can find for a decent price...
also, there is always a good thing to get the tires from a known tire shop, where you can get a very good warranty...
how much are you looking at spending per tire? where are you getting them installed? how much is their mount and balance charge?
my recommendation is to go with a brand called Nexen, it is a brand that i know a few people on here are using, as well as what i use... they are not too expensive, treadwear is pretty good, traction is pretty good, and noise is pretty low...

Cheap tires can put you in a ditch.. I made the mistake and it contributed a total loss wreck I was in. There are very decent tires that will improve the performance of your car greatly available for just a little bit more.

I had an early set of Nankan NS01s, and they were awful. The worst tires I've ever owned, period. I'd stay away from many of the Chinese brands.
