Hey all, I'm looking to visit some dealers this weekend and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations of local dealers to visit or stay away from. I'm in Northern NJ so anywhere around that area would be great. I'm willing to travel for a great deal of course! Thanks!

I am not sure about NY/NJ, but if your looking to Travel I would put out there A1 Toyota in New Haven CT. It is where I made my purchase a few years back and they offer quite a few good deals! I was there the other day and they had a couple of New and Used Yarii to look at. Not sure if you want to come up north that far but I went to a variety of dealers when shopping for mine and it couldn't be beat!

Hey I actually went to Prestige Toyota up in Ramsey for my test drive! Seemed like a good group over there even though I didn't sit down and negotiate yet.

Yeah, they are all nice up to the point of negotiating.

BTW, if you ask around enough, you will find people who have good and bad things to say about any particular dealership.
What a good deal basically comes down to is the salesman and how anxious they are to move cars when you negotiate.

Halterman's Toyota in East Stroudsburg, PA is the dealer I go to despite the fact that Dick Milham Toyota in Easton is closer to me. Dick Milham is the very worst car dealer I have ever dealt with. I realize that you're asking for NJ/NY dealerships, but thought perhaps since you're from North Jersey, a 15 minute ride into PA (Halterman's) might be an option for you.

I picked mine up from Bennett Toyota in Allentown. I agree that Dick Milham sucks majorly. They're closer to the house I'm moving to, but since Bennett's around the corner from my current apartment, I went there and they had what I was looking for. So far, I've had a good experience at Bennett.

I work for Curry and got my yaris there but they screwed up the paperwork and the car ended up in my moms name when she was supposed to be the cosigner. I don't plan on selling cars for the rest of my life. Service is great at curry however, I hear nothing but bad things about sales, rofl.

So didja buy one? I live somewhat east also.

Riverhead Toyota are a great bunch. I'm friendly with the owner, Ted Lucki (pronounced Lootski, it's polish). His fam owns riverhead ford/mitsub. also. I bought my Tundra from him years back and my fam. bought from them several times as well. Good service too..

I bought at Riverhead too!
I went to Smithtown,1 Yaris S sedan in stock.
Went to Competition in MIddle Island, mabye 2 on the lot.
Riverhead had about 10 LB's and at least 6 sedans. They even had one "bare bones" LB with 5 speed and crank windows in RED!
I think my sales guy was Jeff. He knocked $300 off the price for me.
Bear in mind this was April '08, BEFORE all the bailouts and desperate to sell dealers.....
