question for those of you in california near santa clarita... my wife is down there with her prius and it is time for an oil change, so i wanted to ask those of you in that area A. who you use? and B. how much they charge... normally i would do this myself, but i am still in WA, and she is in CA...

If she does not want to go to the dealer, I would guess that any lube shop would do. If she knows how to search through the owners manual, the right oil viscosity can be found in there.
Otherwise, you will open a whole can of worms as to which type of oil is better... synthetic or not? Which brand? an so on.

she will be in santa clarita, about 30 miles north of los angeles... anyone know of a shop in that area?

Yeah, this is not exactly my neighborhood so I don't know (besides I just asked the forum the same question, should I take my car to the dealership for my car's 60K service or to someone else and those who responded voted 50/50)
Try looking on Yelp?
yelp.com
It's not the Bible, of course, but at least you can get an idea of what people recommend. :iono:
PS> I wish YarisSedan was a little closer, too

sorry just saw this. DO NOT use a quick lube place, if possible.
Affordable Automotive, Canoga Park (818) 887-4425, Rick is my trusted friend and has worked extensively on both my cars (Yaris and tC).
He also maintains my wife's Prius.
