I'm scheduling a meetup for 10am on August first for anyone interested in attending. We will be meeting at the top of Little Tujunga canyon at the picnic area. Little Tujunga is located off the 210 freeway at Osborne street in Sylmar, CA. For those of you who are still confused Little Tujunga IS OSBORNE STREET! So when you do turn left onto Osborne and it looks like just a residential street KEEP GOING! See ya at the top!

This is by no means set in stone just an idea I had today. If anyone in the San Fernando Valley has driven through Little Tujunga Canyon, which is coincidentally 1 mile from my house , you know what an amazing and beautiful place it is. I took the Yaris through it today and had a blast which got me to thinking about all of you! Anyone else down for a meetup and a picnic at the top of Little Tujunga? We could even continue down the other side and meet up at In and Out. Let me know what you think?
For an excellent write up on Little T check out http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/LittleTujungaRd.htm!

How about the first Saturday or Sunday of every month? That is if enough people will be attending. I try to make it up there at least once every weekend for some practice since its only 1 freeway exit away so anytime is a good time for me.

What are you going to practise?
I try to get a better feel for how the car reacts and refine my driving techniques. I noticed an improvement in my overall reaction time as well! I'm hoping it will benefit me when I make it to my first auto-x event. Are you going to go to El Toro at the end of this month?

How about Saturday morning before it gets too hot? Say we all meet at the picnic area around 10ish? I'm not so much of a night or evening canyon driver myself since that's when wildlife tends to make an appearance which could be a recipe for disaster.

On my calendar.
I'll put the word out for Micro Image. This is a cruise, correct?
I will go at the end of the month if my car is tuned. I'll probably get stuck in some "unlimited" class or something -- great for a first-time autocrosser, LOL.

I was thinking we could meet at the top then cruise down to In n Out for lunch. Hopefully you'll get your car tuned in time to help build up the Yaris arsenal! Someone's gotta give all the Mazda 3's and Mini's a run for their money.

Is this little Tujunga Road? I'd be down for a later date. How about the Angeles Crest?

Technically I believe it's Osborne street and Little Tujunga/Sand "Canyon". You exit the 210 at Osborn and turn left at Osborn street. Angeles Crest is fine too I just like Little T because it's always empty and free of cops but for a cruise that doesn't matter much anyways.
So is Little T like Angele Crest, high speed? I'm more interested in curvey/technical roads. :).

It's a cruise, right? I don't practice racing on public roads.

I see why you want to meet at the top and cruise down.

I'm pretty sure it is, but turns make a cruise a little more fun. What I meant by 'high speed" was more straight-away/not so curvey kinda like angeles-crest. Of course we're not racing on public roads, that would be illegal and against the forum rules right? :]

Little Tujunga is more frequented by motor cycles than cars due to how narrow and curvy the road is. If you're looking for a fun technical road look no further! Again though this is a cruise not a race down the hill so no one should be speeding and pressuring the rest of us. On your own time however go nuts and have fun!
I noticed bikers love these types of roads, they're crazy! haha. Yeah I was only expecting a cruise, sounds good. If my car is fixed up by then I'll head up.

You want to continue on Osborne street for I'd say about 7 or 8 miles. I'm going a little early and you'll see my car. It's a LARGE paved parking area with benches and trees. You'll find it dont worry have faith!
