Tinted my 09 Yaris with 5% in the back windows and 35% in the front. Only been two days so I'm crossing my fingers I don't get pulled over. Front tint is pretty light but it's dark at night. Guy says three days until I can roll the windows down lol. It's hot too!
Please feel free to post pix of your tint jobs as well

The back looks cool but you said your front side window *is* tinted?? Wow, doesn't look it at all, I want to get 35% all around when its legal but if that's what 30% looks like, I'm kind of disappointed.

Yeah, I think it is the angel as well. I took the picture and its really bright and 90 degrees outside. I'll take another pic in about an hour at a better angel :) It does look light I'm going to edit the post to 35%.

I went with 15% all around, the guy wrote the receipt as 20% for me, so I can play dumb with the cop-- if that ever happens ;d

That's way cool! lol. I've been hearing that no front tint is allowed in California but I have heard from others that as long as they can see the whites of your eyes you should be ok.

most states are tough on it for some reason, sucks i think. but, at night i have trouble seeing out sometimes, haha-- so i guess there is a reasoning

Damn cops! I think since it's a Yaris I'll get away with it. No one even really notices the car to be honest. Blends in quite well.

Idk how a feel about that big of a difference in % from front to back.
I'd probably like it more If it was maybe 15 in back and 35 in front' or If you really wanted 5 in the back 15 or 20 up front.
Your car looks nice none the less an that was just my opinion.

Nice. Doesn't look too dark since your Yaris is black. If I got darker tint on mine, it would definitely look too dark at any angle.

For sho! You're probably right. I was scared to even do 35% though lol. We'll see how it goes. If it were really up to me it would be 5% all the way around.

Actually the 2nd set of photos make it look a lot better. My friend had 5% all around on his civic and driving at night on highways was pretty terrifying.
Is front tint illegal altogether where you live?

Yeah, made it illegal in 1999. I guess a select few can get a doctors note from a dermitologist for sensitive skin but I hear you can't drive at night if you get one.

I have 35% tint all round on my blue Yaris and it looks darker than yours. I think black cars make tint look lighter than it is..

I'm thinking you're pribaby right about Black cars making tint look lighter. I got 20 all around and was curious when I first got it back wether or not they actually put 20 on.
But comparing to my brothers 35 it's obviously darker. Must just be the black paint.
Oh and best of luck with the Police man.

Well, I have a funny story.
My wife's Scion xB has super dark tint all the way around, (30%, but the back windows are tinted from the factory) and no tickets.
See below:
Before tint:

After tint:

I get my Yaris tinted with the same tint, same company, and I get pulled over by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Now the funny part. I bought the car in Feb, and I had not picked up my registration yet (4 months). He gave me a ticket for the registration and let me go for the tint.
I sent a copy of the registration in and my $10 and I am all set.
I think that the FHP was looking for someone not wearing the seatbelt (new law), and could not see me through the windows.
I even told the cop that it's Florida and super hot (it was 97 degrees out that day) and with the black car I needed the tint. He said he understood and gave me a warning for the tint. :w00t:
