there is a guy locally selling a xd exhaust with 10k on it for only 50 bux. I was thinking of picking it up because they have a tip on them that looks nice. will it fit? it looks pretty much the same from pics i've scene of the xd exhaust..

Thanks!

Try it, if not re-sell it!

yeah thats what i'll do :)

i think it has a nice top on it and from what i have heard its a tiny bit throatier than the yaris even though its a stock exhaust. i think the tip has some resonance to it.. anyone able to confirm that?

for $50 you can't go wrong if it's in good shape. the xD shares our platform, so it MIGHT fit.

sweet. i think i was the first to message him on it. i cant see too many people looking for a stock xd exhaust :)

it has the same square bubble as the yaris exhaust does.. looks just like it from other pics/vids i saw on it after googling it . hope it does :)

from trdusa.com:
xD exhaust part # PTR03-52071
yaris exhaust part # PTR03-52081

doesnt mean it wont fit, though. i'd imagine the exhaust hangers would be different...

edit: but for $50 give it a whirl. if it doesnt fit, sell it on scionlife.com

Awesome confirmed fit. Wonder which other XD parts we can use. Maybe even a midpipe, or full header back.

TinyGiant

well the car is a 1.8l so i would think its probably more like the yaris TS ?

True, however I can't imagine the routing of the exhaust piping would be too much different :iono:

TinyGiant

prolly not... especially since the axle back is the same

i wonder how big the oem xd tubing is....id think it'd be fatter than a yaris

TinyGiant

seems the same to me :)

looks to me like you traded a apple for a apple. The only difference I see is the shiny tip

TinyGiant
07-17-2009, 01:36 AM
yeah that was the point.. cheaper than a TRD tip and no welding :)

at least until i can find a performance exhaust that is barely louder than stock

there's a TRD tip? Or do you mean the acessory catalog one? If that's true then that's just a basic bolt-on tip.

TinyGiant

yeah thats the one i was refering to.

the one on this axle back is actually part of the exhuast not a bolt on tip

I would think so too, I will check at a local junkyard that carries alot of toyota here and post some info once I get it.

God, I love the "junkyard" mods on this forum  "Does it fit?" "Sure! Strap it on, and see what it does!"

Looks great on the Yaris. I'm still on my stock muffler too. I hate the giant tips of most of the performance exhausts available for the Yaris and I'm looking for something quiet too. I've got the OEM fancy tip on mine and I must say that I find your Scion tip to be more visually appealing.

yeah i like it. i loved the sound of the tanabe in town on short trips.. but after driving 2 hours with it i decided stock was the best route for now ..

bah, you need a little grunt... the stock exhaust and intake sounds so anemic to me...

i liked the sound of the tanabe.. just not on long trips.. two hours of hwy with that thing and it turned me off from keeping it on. lol

There's a guy down the street from me with a fartcan on his Saturn. The car sounds anemic because it IS anemic. If my Yaris sounded like his Saturn, I'd have to kick my own ass. Loud exhaust on an econobox is great....if you're a teenager. To everyone else that lives on your street, it's annoying as hell.
