View Full Version : My New Sparco Seat and Custom Brackets
Here is a pic of a Sparco R100 racing seat. I got two of them and both of them were shipped damaged. Fortunately only one was ripped. I am still waiting for the USPS to get back to me on the claim I made.
With creative use of some 90 degree bent metal, a dremel and big fender washers, I made a set of custom brackets. All the material was from Home Depot.
After I cut all the pieces, I test fit them and then painted them semi flat black after cleaning the metal.

great seat....like wut mike n said, b careful with those brackets...
You guys are right. I am still thinking about more modifications I can make to the brackets.
One idea is not to use the perforated metal but instead use thicker gauge 90 degree angled steel.
Another is more reinforcements in the areas where the bolts attach.
Any other ideas? How are you guys constructing your brackets?
nice looking seat sir
how much are they ?
They are very reasonably priced. About $260 a seat - not including the sliders.

Not to bash on your DIY brackets... but that is not safe at all...!
In a collision those won't hold the weight of your body, bent and you could be seriously injured.
Keep it safe!
BTW, that seat looks sweat on the Yaris...!

Castrex, you are right, the brackets. The are not that safe. I will be reinforcing the mounting points with thicker steel. I will probably end up building them again

It is looking great. But I think it will be quite costly.
