I'll throw out a small gripe... The clock is not "on" when the ignition is in the accessory mode.
Not a big deal though...
I'll toss out another.
The Accessory knobs (for AC/Heat etc..) are the Ugliest Green ever concieved by mankind, and in no way match the interior of ANY of our cars.
I'll be replacing mine with Blue (Hopefully)

Yeah I'm still wondering how I can use all those compartments... Knowing how wonderful and clean and organized I am, I'll be wishing for more storage compartments and/or losing a lot of stuff that are actually in those compartments

I have one: On my Automatic, you can't really tell what gear you are in when it is dark. I usually click it into D and click left to 3 then back to D.
I know how to do this, but I'm not sure my wife does or cares if she's in D or 3 as long as the car is moving in a forward direction. I think the sedan has gear indicators on the display to the left of the speedometer. I was thinking about putting a little LED light on the shifter, and painting the top of it black, so it will only shine down on the shifter, and not up and into your eyes.

That's my only complaint as well. I asked in a thread awhile back if anyone knows of a shift knob that has lights that shine downward. No replies at all. I can't believe we're the only two automatic Yaris owners that find this a annoyance.
I know you eventually just know which gear is which especially in this 4 speed automatic, but everyone else that drives my car at night has problems with it. WTF was Toyota thinking by not putting gear indicators on the display...
I've just gotten used to the Shifting I guess. It would be nice if the actual indicator on the Shifter was a brighter color, (AND NOT PUKE GREEN)... here I come Blue LEDs!

I kinda agree with the green knobs.
Regarding the storage bins I don't see a problem, perhaps maybe there is no "designated" documents storage (you know, somewhere with a clip to attach the car's insurance and registration).
Since I drive a manual HB, the lack of ilumination on the stick doesn't really7 bothers me. To the ones who it does bothers, you might try to use a bright white led lighting the stick area, kinda like a mini light...

No whining. Just stating a fact about my sister's Accent (btw it has a tach too). Test drive was during the day where I don't have any problem seeing what gear I'm on so the gear indicators didn't even come into mind.

You bought a Yaris and not an Accent....sorry but I have a hard time taking the complaints from someone who does TWO tint jobs as legitimate, you obviously need help making choices and standing behind them. END THREAD FOR ME

What do you mean by "TWO tint jobs as legitimate..."? First off, I am a first time car owner. I didn't know anything about tint jobs (should have done a little research, but that's my fault) and I did file a complaint against those jerks with the BBB and Nevada attorney general. I really like my Yaris. The gear indicator thing is just a minor annoyance. Oh and no one asked you to take complaints from anyone. Sounds like YOU have a problem.

I have underdash neons so seeing the shifter is not much of a problem.
However before I installed the neon I was thinking about installing a couple LEDs next to the shifter.
OR
installing micro switches that lit up an led when the car was in gear

If you could insert a small led in the hand brake lever, it would illuminate that area nicely. Maybe drill an LED size hole under the hand brake lever, near the release button. The only problem is how to wire it to yor lights.

I have seen several people complain about this but my sedan has lighted indicators next to the shifter. I wonder if its just automatic LB's that are not lighted. Is the trim around the sedan shifter the same as the LB? If so, maybe you can buy it from the dealer.

A friend of mine has a 1978 VW Beetle and it has an led that swivels from the dash to shine onto the shifter. I have been looking through his magazines for a replacement so that I can install it on my car. Mainly cause i don't want it to remain stationanry when it can be put to better use once in motion. has anyone taken the panel with the nobs off to see what bulbs are used and any pics???

I think their talking about the lack of an Indicator on the Dashboard/Heads Up.
Our Automatic LBs have LEDs behind the actual shifter, but their Dim as hell (and ugly as sin too).

The automatic LB has LED's in there? I didn't notice. If they really are there, they're either not working or very, very dim.

um...so what exactly is the complaint?
ya
They are very very dim, and I dont believe it actually Illuminates the shifter itself, just the Gear Indicators (Park, R, N, D-3rd, 2nd L)

To those who don't understand the issue:
The problem is, at night, you can't see which gear you are in on the LBs with Auto trannys. This is not so much a problem for the primary driver because they know the feel of the gated shifter and are used to it. The problem is when someone, unfamiliar with the car, drives it at night and can't figure out what gear they are in. They may drive around in a lower gear and get poor mileage or ruin the tranny by overheating it.
If you don't own a LB with Auto this thread is useless to you, unless you are offering advice or knowledge. This is a real issue with us LB-A owners.

Hide stuff in those compartments and maybe you will forget about them. In a few years you may find them again and think treasure... or something.
