17's and 205/45's. Is it Possible?

205/45/17 is the Toyota OEM tyre size and recommended for 17" application with stock suspension.

On stock suspension with 7" wheels as long as your offset is higher than +25 you shouldn't have any rubbing issues up front.

without more wheel info we can't really give you a certain answer on fitment, which wheels (size/offset) you looking to run?

OP, you need to make sure your wheel offset is +40MM to +43MM. width alone doesn't tell us whether or not it will rub.

well the +40 to +43mm applies to the above +25mm. :smile:

the +25mm wont rub, although it may not be the look that everyone wants as it's rather aggressive.

Tamago's offset recommendations are true for a no hassle bolt on fitment (for stock or future suspensions), although the rear wheels will be sunken in due to the track difference.

we really need more info on the OP's goals to figure out what the best course of action would be. We'd at least be able to show him a few options. :w00t:

we've ran as low as a +23mm with a 205 on a stock suspension yaris without rubbing. :wink:

I have stock rims on my 1.8 TS. They are 17" x 6.5J and the offset is 52 mm with tyres 205/45/17.
My TS have a stock lowering of 0.5 inch and it gives no problems and no rubbing.

One thing to mention here with any wheel/tyre application on stock suspension: The lower the offset, the more you bring the wheels out, the more you visually accentuate the already monstrous Yaris wheel gap, and the more the car looks like a puddle jumper.

a 17" wheel with the same overall diameter tire will "appear" to have more wheel gap then the stock wheels.

I've actually found a proper low(er) offset actually makes the high ride height look better, although that could be a personal preference. :cool:

Yeah. That's my experience as well with +1/+2 applications.
