i was reading the manual and i noticed that if your yaris came with an immobilizer that it would have the remote integrated in the key.

i have an immobilizer but my key and remote are separated, wtf?

any1 else got that?

I don't have an imobilizer and my remote is integrated in the key. Does your remote have a Toyota logo on it? If not, it could have been an after market kit that the dealer installed.

how many remotes did you get if you have the keyless entry option. I only got one.

oh man, this sucks. i have 2 remotes and 1 key with black rubber square and another just all steel. all with toyota logos.

and i want the key and remote integrated. less dangles

i hope team toyota wont give me a hassle on this.

i prolly wont mind getting just 1 as long as it's the integrated version but what dealer sells you a brand new car with no duplicates. another wtf?!

I received the master key/remote, another master key (no remote), and a useless Valet Key that opens everything but the trunk (which can be opened from inside the car)

you can "lock" the back seats from the trunk... but still; a pain. Myf GFs civic has a key lock for the back seats.. which makes sence. oh well.

Yeah, but, the trunk open switch is on the floor next to the gas open switch. I think there was something in the manual about this, I don't remember.

I got two keys like the last post

One was the standard intergrated key that comes with the car with keyless entry along with two master keys without remotes.
The second intergrated key had to be special ordered

How much to get the extra intergrated key?

what you can do, is with the trunk closed, you can turn the key to the left(oppisite of open) and remove the key, it then can not be opened from inside the car :)

I'm not sure I had it included in the final price but I know it was NOT cheap.
I'll have to look at the paperwork.

But off the top of my head I beleive it was over $200

i was at my local dealer yesterday and i actually saw the blank key with integrated remote for me only to find out that they could not program the key with my VIP alarm system.

according to glen toyota, NJ service manager: I have an after market alarm system hence the remotes and keys separated is what I currently got (even when my remote and key have the toyota logos?!? WTF:bs: )

im on a mission to get this integrated key since team toyota, GA only gave me 2. 1 master 1 valet, so they owe me 1 more master which should be the key with integrated remote.

i need a 2nd opinion, any1 know any good toyota dealer service center that are honest and reliable? im going to get this key and just advise team toyota that im doing it with another dealer besides the plan was get the key and have programming dealer forward bill to team

i could be paranoid but im starting to get the feeling that team and glen are conspiring to just point me to a dead end wall (maybe since the key + labor will cost them). how hard is it to program a key? it's 2006 for f*ck sake! people swap engines and they cant program a damn key.

Yeah, that price sounds about right. I got my salesman to give us an extra one at no charge though.

I'm pretty sure the integrated keys won't work for an alarm system. They only contain 3 buttons, lock, unlock, panic. I guess theoretically lock could arm the system and unlock could disarm it, but I don't think they're made this way. As an aside, why don't they have a damn trunk open button?!

manborn: do you have a picture of your remote?

i do belive they told you that you have an aftermarket alarm system, that's why you have separated remote, and that's another reason WHY they didn't give you the 3rd key with integrated remote.
the probably did that to save troubles from hearing you that your key doesn't disarm the car, while you were supposed to use the separated remote to disarm....

anyhow, they still owe you a 3rd key, or a 2nd master key...
