Well i found another money pit lol...

Just purchased a 1987 Nissan Maxima. Bought it from a little old lady. She was the original owner. Car has 67,000km :) All factory. Always dealer maintained. I got all the paper work including the original bill of sales, every oil change, and the car was rust proofed every year.

So i started thinking on what i want to do with this car. The interior is just mint... its an import...

So i started by ordering all new suspension. Unfortuantly parts for the 2nd gen maxima are hard to come by. So i had to settle for what was available.

Ordered the following:
KYBGR2s
Intrax 2" drop lowering springs
Moog Ball joints
Moog Tie rods
Moog Camber Kit
H&R 1" Wheel Spacers

I figure i'd do the suspension first then move onto the brakes :) The brakes don't need much work since they are 11" rotors already. Just need to buy some 4 pot calipers.

The paint does need work. its been faded from sitting in the sun.

I want to keep the car looking OEM. So i am looking for 04-06 nissan spec v rims. With the 1" spacers and the drop they should give the car a totally different look. And Tint is a must too!

After all that is said and done then i'll think about doing something to the motor. I would love to put the VG30DETT motor into the car. There are some clearance issues with the rear turbo and manifold so some custom turbo manifolds would be needed.... and also a full exhaust.

I am looking to do the JDM VIP style look on this car.

johnnypaseo - thats an amazing website! thanks for the heads up.... i am going to join for sure

caliyaris - i think its called the bluebird in japan. not 100% though. i haven't don't much research into the car yet. only been looking at motor swaps and suspension but no JDM goodies...

BTW everything just arrived at my door about 10 minutes ago. All i am waiting for is the intrax springs!

Yeah its a great site, good luck with the build!! These cars (ie Toyota Cressida) definitely have a cult following, they can look soo nice lowered with low offset/deep dish jdm wheels. =)

Hey my aunt has that exact same car! With like only 40k miles on it. Never uses it much. Its like a big, slow, box unfortunately... but faster then the Yaris. lol (as like all other cars on the road)

Its nice if you do it right, it will be unique cause there are very few of those around.
