Yaris 998cc discs stuck on hubs

Hi,

I need to change the studs on my wife's Yaris so that I may fit some wheel spacers.

The discs and drums have no retaining bolts, but they seem to be stuck.

anyone has any tips on how to take them off?

loosen them with a rubber mallet, I think :smile:

Tried that, they still won't budge though (both discs and rear drums)
Then agiain, I was not hitting as hard as I could for fear of damaging them.

There are two threaded holes. Get long bolts to fit those, and tighten them to loosen the hub, by pushing in the bolt loosens the hub -- that's whey they are there for.

i never knew thats what those holes were for. i just spray penetrating lube on on there and whack it with a big effin rubber hammer. :)

Is this the same for thr front dics?

also, is there anything else I should now about changing the wheels studs to longer ones??

If you got H&R spacers, they come with longer studs to match the spacer. If you didn't, I don't know.

Cali, I do have the studs as the spacers I have are 19mm each (38mm total track widening).

as all my previous cars have used bolts and not studs this is the first time I'm replacing them.

Is there anything I should know when replacing the studs?

Just did this last Thursday!

Once the wheel is off, HIT THAT SUCKER HARD!! (everywhere on the drum front, BUT the studs!)

After soaking it for a bit, a few good wacks and it "popped" and fell right off.

It's being held on by rust behind the rotor. Remember to smear a little anit-seize before re-assy.

it might sound stupid but you don't know how many people make that mistake with drums
MAKE SURE YOUR HANDBRAKE IS RELEASED!
and for the front disk do as Garm Said thread the bolt in.

to get those studs on correctly i recommend align it properly and walk it in with a nut only without installing the wheel.
