This was discussed in another thread. There was an article on SubCompactCulture.com which linked to AutoBlog.

From my standpoint, paying £20,000 (about $34,000) for a subcompact economy car kind of defeats the purpose of an economy car.

The idea of an AM subcompact is a cool idea in terms of it being a novelty.... Just not very practical IMO.

I wonder if I can buy the badges of this and stick them on my Yaris haha

..but then I might have to buy new rims too

paying £20,000 (about $34,000) for a subcompact economy car kind of defeats the purpose of an economy car.I suspect they are not thinking of it in terms of an "economy car", but as a "city car"...and as an up-scale, fashion statement for the new urban-chic. I guess the iQ is quirky/clever enough to pull this off!!

I suspect the "city car" vs "economy car" is a distinction we may see more of in the days ahead.

At around $8/gal for fuel, thirty-four grand is doable, particularly if the A-M quality and finish is there...

From what I've read this car is only going to be sold to current Aston Martin owners.

I read the same just for now. It will be available for AM owners and those who have one on order.

But I believe they plan on eventually making it available non am owners.

As far as "city" cars go, it seems like the same idea as buying a gap tshirt for 100 bucks because it has a louis vuitton logo sewn on the chest...

That's just my opinion though, I can see how the car may be appealing to some.

To each his own as we always say.

If they hang it from davits off the back of a full-size A-M, then it IS a nifty tote bag!

^that's what i'm thinking.

hey, buy any one of our exotics, and we'll throw in a fuel-efficient daily driver for an extra $15,000.

like mentioned, i seriously don't think they're marketing this to the general public. it's mainly for am owners indeed. and with that in mind... nice choice aston martin.
