Windshield wiper removal

I have seen in other post that some of you remove the windshield wiper assembly to gain acces to the large wire harness grommet. I wish to run some cables through the fire wall via this grommet. How do you remove the wiper assembly to gain access to the grommet. I have a new 09 3 door Hatch back. Any information would be welcome.
