Humm, I'm not living in the ghetto, but I think the "blackies" mean "black steel wheels".

My black steel 15 inch wheels weigh 15 lbs each, as measured on my el-cheapo Wal-Mart bathroom scale. Hope this helps. -Mike

is that 15lbs for just the wheel or wheel+tire?

I'm surprised... cause most of 15" wheels will weight a little over 20 lbs each... with tire mounted it reach easily 30+ lbs!

Man this is making me rethink changing my wheels at this time. I thoght the difference in weight would be very big, but only 4 lbs less isn't a big improvement. I may just wait now.

Actually, 4 lbs less using the same size wheel is a big improvement.

If you add up all 4 wheels thats 16lbs weight reduction. You can remove more by removing the back seats if you wished. It'll improve the car no doubt, but it won't be to a great extent.

Removing unsprung weight nets greater improvement than removing sprung weight.

That's light if the bathroom scales is accurate. It's about 1lb lighter than the standard 15" alloys.

15" Watanabes weigh 24 lbs. each with tires, 9 lbs. each without tires.

I did not weigh my stock steelies but I had a steel wheel in one hand and my new wheel in the other.. you could tell a HUGH differance... 4-6lbs... but I chose a very open wheel... I will get exact wights when I pull my nice wheels off for the winter
