At last, a sunny day today, washed the car with my buddy, pulled out the ol' 350D and snapped away

Two very nice shots to start things off:

My friend's RX-8, by the way

A nice fat exhaust:

And the green goblins responsible for the lower stance:

Profile shot:

Other side, with doors open:

Open driver's door invites us to some interior shots:

Gotto love momo leather with red stitching, gonna have to re-make the leather seats the same next

And, to finish off, a very proud owner:

The back end still needs work, JDM rear bumper and LED tail lights will be there soon ;) I'm not a big fan of smoked lights though, but painitng the inside back is definitely to be done!

What kind of wheels are those? They really set your car off, well so does everything else.

Thanks!

The wheels are Works Emotion CR Kai in 18x7.5, 42mm offset. They do suit the car very well

Wow thanks for the comments, guys, let me answer some of your questions.
Most of the technical details you can find in my garage:

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/funkygarage.php?do=garage&id=1546

Tires are Falken 215/35R18, suspension are Tein Super Street with a drop of about 1.5"

ChinoCharles, I know I am gorgeous. Unfortunately, I'm sorry my sexual preferences are straight, so you and I can never be

HKS exhaust discussion and quick video clip can be found on this thread:

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2020

Yes, I'm in Bangkok, about 25 minutes away from Autocar  (that shop is the mecca of Yaris aftermarket parts, btw)

Yes, I need to lose weight, and get a tan

And finally, how much was spent? Well, quite a bit I must admit. Though in my defense I was originally saving up for a secondhand Impreza, but prefered a new car to a 10-year old one. And since the downpayment on this baby was nothing too extreme, it left me with a sizeable mod budget :biggrin::biggrin:

Ultimate Yaris? Oh no I don't think so, not yet anyway... there's still so much left to be done (as Tim "The Toolman" Taylor would say, MORE POWER!)

PS I almost forgot, some engine bay photos and info here:

i was wondering what falkens are those? i can't seem to find any falkens that have 235/35/18, they only have 225/35/18 then skips to 245/35/18
unless they have different sizes in thailand

Cool car, man.

Looks like the Thai-built Yarises have a different radio aerial than the rest of the world.

eTiMaGo
10-09-2006, 03:56 AM
yeah there's a lot of small difference I notice from the north american ones on this site, aerials here are all the stubby short type. Also the brake lights use LEDs, but the design is not the same as the Japan-spec ones:

A bit too bling as they are, but open them up and paint the non-reflective parts black or red, you may have a winner there!

i was thinkin the same thing!! i hate chrome tail lights

Ryosuke
10-11-2006, 02:42 PM
Well I thought the same, dont like the chrome too much and I think I have too much chrome things in my car with the wheels and handles. They are avaiable here in Venezuela at some places for about $280 but I dont know if they come smoked or black in the future

ChinoCharles
10-11-2006, 04:19 PM
They aren't bad, and they would definitely look better smoked and/or painted.

I'm getting the "these belong on a beater" feel from them though. The wrong tail lights on the right car can make a 2007 look like a 1998 really fast.

Nice ride...that wouldn't happen to be a shift-light behind the steering wheel is it?

eTiMaGo
10-14-2006, 12:17 PM
thanks
It would happen to be a sequential LED shift light thingamajig, much cleaner looking than a big ol tach. First light comes on at 3000RPM, my shift point for normal driving, and the others until 6000RPM when the last big red one and the buzzer come on. Buzzer's a bit annoying though, thankfully it can be disabled.

eTiMaGo
10-19-2006, 05:07 AM
very true... if a car here is not manufactured in thailand, there is like a 300% import tax.. At least decent cars are made here, not like our poor neighbours down in malaysia, who have pretty crappy local made cars  A Yaris there costs around US$25,000

But for Yaris owners, Thailand is heaven

Oooh, it's the local parts store/workshop here that brings in all these goodies. They do have a couple more in stock, but I'm not sure if they have it in the dark blue.

Also I'm pretty sure you might need to do some modification to the back end of the body of the car, if I am not mistaken the USDM hatchbacks have a deeper "butt" due to some extra cross-bar there.

All together including the lights and wiring, the rear bumper costs close to US$400, and although it's not all that heavy, I doubt the shipping cost would be so cheap!!!

The shop here also has the RS front bumper and side skirts, too... I won't be putting them on though, I kinda like my current front

When I was upgrading my audio system. I had choices between
Aczon & Soundstream . . . I chose Soundstream to go with Boston
speakers ... and they work fine

May I ask you the name of the workshop? I have problem with my sub
cabinet . . I believe my system could produce way better sound if I
modify the cabinet

Etimago, sick ride! I LOVE IT! What kind of Tein suspension are you running? Springs or Coilovers? I got a bit confused when looking at yours.

eTiMaGo
03-09-2007, 07:59 PM
They're a spring+damper set, but due to the suspension setup of the car only the front is in a coilover configuration, the back springs are kept separtate from the damper, this is normal. It's the TEIN Super Street set to be precise.
