Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find or if they already have the specs to the stock alt. How many amps it cranks at diff rpms and what not. Thanks for any help

i believe its 80amp.... not 100% sure tho.... voltage I think is limited to mid 14's.... I don't think i've ever seen it higher than 14.2 or 14.3.

I looked through the service manual and spec docs and can't find its rating. The only reference to current is in a testing section where they mention that under load (headlights on, heater on, fan on high) an ammeter should read over 30 Amps and with no load it should read about 10 Amps.

If it is an 80 Amp alt, then basically you have about 600 Watts @ 12V available under load and about 840 Watts @ 12V with no load before you are drawing off the battery, rather than the generator/alternator

realistically.... if it is 80amp... numbers would be higher than that... due to voltage usually being in the 13.5-14v range.... and the batt would start to discharge probably when the voltage dropped to 12.5-13v. At least, that's what my car appears to be sitting at.

so 910watts without load
