What do you guys think of the rota D2? Obviously the car would be dropped with a hard suspension setting. I was thinking:
17x7.5 4x100 +35 205/40R17 Yokohama S.drive front
17x8 4x100 +25 205/40R17 Yokohama S.drive rear
Wheels should look like this:

I like that bent fat-spoke design a lot. Looks good on Scions too.

by that ...you meant Works wheels right

sure do. :)
i really dont like fake parts... if i actually had to pay for the spuns on my yaris i wouldve not even got them at all. i would have sprintharts on there instead. you asked for opinions..so there is my opinion

lol.. sure,if I had 2-3k lying around I'd buy some ssr's or some works. Since I have a yaris... do you really think I can afford that or would even consider doing that?
It's not like I'm going to be racing with those wheels. If I was racing I'd just buy some 15x7 super light and simple wheels. Maybe if it was a Z or a Supra or anything of worthy caliber I would consider it. Honestly I'm looking for a decent wheel with a good offset and be able to stretch and have some dish.
I was more concerned on your opinions on fitment. I think it would be perfect so I don't have to run spacers and I'm not to sure if a 195 would be better than a 205.

yea, I'm planning on getting them I'm just waiting till spring before I do any more mods on my car. I just want to make sure that it's not a horrible idea.
This is what they look like:

Make sure you pick the right color, I was looking at some D2s and I remeber they have like 5 color choices. I think it is black, bronze, gunmetal, (chrome) silver, (chrome) gold.

you're not gonna fit a 8" wide rear wheel on the yaris without some fender mods.. especially a +25 offset.

the front sounds fine. but the rear is going to poke out i think. that offset is already pushing it with a 17x7. and you wanna go with an 8? id go with an 8 but higher offset.

oh, but based on the style, i wanted to get work meisters/ ssr sp1's but they seemed to be really common on other cars. but still looks sick if you get the perfect offset!

The new line of Rotas have been copying a lot of other lines from SSR, Work, and Mugen.
Personally, I'd buy the "real deal", but for those who can't afford them, Rotas are quite popular.
The one you posted looks nice - they must be pretty heavy, too?

I'm, not a fan of fake rivets/allen heads either but, I must admit, it like them.

lol, actually it appears they removed all the "rivets" due to some of them probably coming out. Now its just weight reduction rims :x
Oh well, they look pretty good, but as Tamago said, have fun with that rear tire fitment.

well I was planning on overcoming the problem of the rear fitment by running 205's on them(normally fit on a 7" wide rim). However I am thinking I may have to go 195.
03Z33 is running:
AME Shallen LX Diamond Cut 16x8 +25LO front 16x8 +18SLO rear with 195/45/16 Federal tires
As you can see in the pic(below) if he is running this setup I should be able to run 17x7.5 +35 in the front and 17x8 +25 in the rear on 205 or 195/40R17. I am assuming his fenders are rolled and maybe even stretched. I haven't seen to many people stretch a tire on their yaris or even throw a nice offset

I like the D2s but they seemed heavy on my brothers xb. I also think 16s look completely dope on a yaris. Perfect size imho.
PS there are sooo many awesome fitted Yari coming out of the woodwork. Saggio's and the one above. i love them both.

I agree on all of that. He is even running +15 offset, which it insane on a yaris and to be dumped like that. I'm not concerned about weight because the wheels will be for show only.

Fo'sho! Just for show - then I say go for it! In fact, go with an even more insane offset! :D

lol... I'm still going to be driving with them on... just don't plan on using them that much and would still give a great look with drive-ability.

good luck getting that 8" wide wheel to fit at the rear, especially with that offset

I hear that, I am nervous for a 15x7.5 +32. Here tomorrow!

I don't see how a 17x8 +25 wheel would not fit in the rear wheel well. I am also not going running 225 tires on the wheels, then it wouldn't fit. However running a 195 would fit. If people run 16x7 +40 wheels with a 205 I don't see an issue with an 8" width, with a bigger offset. Especially when some people are running +15 on xxr wheels, and I believe flush is a +30 offset on the rear and +35 in the front. Honestly I think it all comes down tot he right tire size not the wheel... unless I was going to put a 17x9 +35 or something crazy like that.

17s are still taller, so with similar aspect ratios you still have a larger wheel. It may rub. These guys know. Thats why I stick to 15s lol.

no doubt, I would love some 16" with that offset. I'll see how it goes, I'm going to get some 15's to put on my stock tires and use my steelies for snows and then either gonna get the d2's or some 5zigen 16's.

a properly sized tire is the same height in 15 and 17....
not sure what u mean?

Yes, but he isnt talking about a properly sized tire. a 205/50 16 and a 205/50 15 are not the same size. the 16 will still be taller and wider, slightly but still not the same.
I dont think they will rub much, I just dont see the point in going bigger than a 16 on these cars. I dont think it looks all that great because it dwarfs our already tiny brakes, but no matter how low you go it still doesnt look low because of the wheels. 16s look massive on these cars when they get dumped. Plus tires are cheap! Go with a 16 if anything. Im still partial to 15s on these cars.
